New card!
Edited by sideshowgames1221Well there's a reason to play Shameful Display if ever there was one.
This is the gift Crane should give to their opponents. Death.
This both excites and scares me.
And only two influence, could be a nice splash as well.
A two honor swing that makes you scared to dishonor a character against crane. Thematically brilliant.
This card has made me consider splashing crane in my crab deck and doing a crab dishonor type deck.
I think it's funny they felt the need to put "(Friendly)" before honored character. Sacrifice, in every game I've ever played, implied you are sacrificing your own character. How do you sacrifice something you don't own? ![]()
But seriously, this card is fantastic. Win a Ring of Fire conflict, spend 1 fate and sacrifice a 0 fate character (or a character that just won that Ring of Fire conflict and is now knelt) to remove whatever character you want. You can dishonor their clan champ with 3 fate and then discard them for almost nothing!
This will definitely put a premium on honor effects, since that will be the best way to protect your key characters from being dishonored and then quickly removed.
And you can bring this into any clan you want, making Ring of Fire a very dangerous conflict to lose when your opponent has 1 fate available to them.

This art reminds me the old story when a (Bayushi) PC did something similar as on the pic: he stood his ground on a bridge all alone, demanding the best champion of the crossing (Crane) army to face him to earn the right of passing. The Crane obviously accepted the deal, sent their most bad*ss kenshizen to deal with the PC, and laughed their butts off when the PC started to back down with pure fear written all over his face. Their smiles disappeared as soon as the PC threw a bunch of nageteppo onto the bridge, blowing it sky-high and sending the kenshinzen falling into her death, then pulled out a yumi and sniped the enemy general who of course came forward to witness the duel.
That scene was mighty glorious

Leaving space for a cult that sacrifices enemy cards?
More please.
Is it Wednesday yet??!! ?
Edited by LordBluntAye, sacrifice is a term we haven't seen yet. Is it possible that it implies... remove from game? Or something else?

One word - MULTIPLAYER
Strong card for just 1 fate. Thematically it feels kind of wrong that the personalities are not participating in the same conflict.
I mean I suppose a Crane General can try to convince the opposing Crab General this needs to happen.
"Excuse me Hida-san but we received word from home than an honorable samurai has just commuted seppuku.......so yeah um you gotta kill that dishonorable zerker you got over there, m'kay"

It would definitely make more sense if both characters had to be participating.
I'm really loving the overall theme of the Crane, I think they're doing a good job of depicting the clan - strong politically with enough control and tricks to offset their smaller military!
Seeing dueling rules will be interesting!
This card looks really strong but will oftentimes require the Crane player to go for "the death ring" as it seems to me, thematically, there will be a theme of direct damage and discarding of characters around the Fire ring

There are quite a few AGoT players who ask questions about paying costs with other players' cards. Note how "friendly" is in italics and within brackets; this looks like reminder text.

Heh, good old Tithe...

Well, it seems like this card can be played outside of a conflict, so that is why it has no participation requirement in the first place. Consider that this noble sacrifice happens somewhere on the way to the battlefield and not at the conflict itself, thus both never arriv and have not to participate at the conflict.

Even the image is one man delaying the conflict through sacrifice....

Ring of Fire only affects on character at a time.
Gives a two-point honor swing (+1 to you, -1 to opponent), too.
At any rate, sometimes we have no choice but To Do What We Must.
Welp, having Dishonoured Champions is officially a bit of a death sentence lol. And it can kill anyone, anywhere, as long as they're Dishonoured? Blimey.
Seems like it should require presence at least. Oh well. I second the guy that said this inherently increases the value of being Honourable, both as a buff and as a shield. Stronger than Steel indeed...
Also, on that note, I'm reckoning there is gonna be a Scorpion bomb in the base set that takes a friendly Dishonoured guy and Honours him and an opposing Honourable guy and Dishonours him. Don't know why but I do.
Thus being able to honour/rehonour your guys might actually be important for the 'military' based clans, that used to largely ignore it.... because there is real repercussion. Good.

Yea. So you win the Ring of Fire conflict, dishonor whichever character you'd like to discard, then play this event to discard them and sacrifice a less valuable character that you honored in some way. I imagine Crane will have a good number of ways of honoring their characters.
