So, working my way thru Clone Wars finally.
Watching Cad Bane steal a holocron from the Jedi under the direction/employ of Darth Sidious.
So in XWM he is REBEL AND SCUM ONLY!!!!????

Yep, because god forbid Imperials get to play this game too.
Um... did I miss something? Cad Bane hasn't been spoiled yet. All of his card text is covered in the spread.
To be fair, sidious, while playing both sides, was seen as the secretive sith lord leader of the separatists, who would be more aligned with rebels and scum than then empire.

Especially when Cad Bane hasn't even been spoiled yet... he could be like bo'shek. Or Scum/Empire only. But no let's make wild assumptions and throw a pity party for the imperials.
Oppressors are never oppressed. You should just give all your focus tokens to those factions that you oppressed to relieve you of your Imperial Guilt!

HOW?

Because the republic turned into the empire. Just look at the clone troopers. They were at first good but then were on the bad side. They're the same troopers though. So the Jedi in the republic were on the imperial side. Just look at their fighters!

And the leader of the republic.... is the leader of the Empire... he is not a rebel. How would he be?
Someone called the Oppressor?
It's a Defender with the wings glued on back to front.

The picture shows bombs being dropped. The flavour text suggests bombs. No bomb slots. Why?

Good point! I had an upgrade card that replaced missiles for bombs, but better fix the ship card itself.

Where do you get the idea he would be rebels? The character is firmly scum, just like Dengar, Zuckuss, 4-LOM, IG-88, Bossk, Boba Fett himself... All of these worked for the empire (the emperor by proxy, like Cad Bane) on at least one occasion. Of them, only Boba is availiable to the empire, only as pilot, and only because scum didn't exist at the time.
If you think Cad Bane will be availiable to rebels, because the pack is a scum/rebel expansion you are highly likely to be wrong. Cad Bane has no buisness with any rebellion as far as we know and FFG won't invent that. Rebel players will already buy the ship for the one pilot that would not have made any sense in scum, no need for further incentives.

Because when you get player saying that DARTH SIDIOUS, a.k.a. THE EMPEROR, is more aligned with Scum and the Rebels, you know this game's factions are seriously ****** up.

Um.
Did you actually read the quote?
It wasn't about the game. At all. It was about the Separatists in the prequel trilogy, which faction was indeed puppetmastered by Sidious playing both ends against the middle, and was indeed not really aligned to Rebels or Empire.

Um, did you?
He talked about alignment with the 3 factions playable in the game. So yes, it was about the game.

Where is x-wing mentioned in that?
Whether that was how the topic got around to Separatists and Sidious, nothing whatsoever in what you quoted mentioned anything related to the game at all, save that one character alluded to is on a card under a completely different name and identity.

Well, given that we are on the XWM message boards, and

I would say that XWM is implied.
But I guess we'll never know without markcsoul's input.
My point was that while yes sidious becomes the emporer, at the time he hired bane he was known as a separatist leader, even though in reality he was playing both sides.
Since bane was working for the separatists through sidious, and the separatists are more aligned with scum and rebels than the Empire, I could see why bane could possibly only be used by those two factions, though I think scum only would be more appropriate.
I feel like if we pull on this thread most pilots will end up in all factions. I am just happy for a new ship, I know I have low standards.
