Oh yes it is. They released another wave of little plastic ships, an people are going to are going to spend money getting them. FFG's motivations are so obvious it's sickening: make ships, get money. They probably have a Wave 12 Screw, er, Release already in the works.

I'm not entirely certain what you're driving at here - I have no objection to FFG profiting from the game and miniatures. I'm merely ridiculing the idea that they will deliberately release a new ship that can use the TLT, include the TLT in the pack, and 'big up' the 4x TLT list, all in an attempt to make people buy a load of them, only to then later 'nerf' the TLT. I did so because it is ludicrous to be so paranoid about FFG's practices. So I'm fairly certain we agree on this, therefore I don't know why the tone of your post is antagonistic.
Well that wouldn't be even first time when FFG does that, look what happened with triple U-boats, now it is pretty much gone from scene! When buying stuff for X-Wing it would not be so bad idea to wait till they will be tested and later nerfed. I was lucky enough to wait till they nerfed JM5K's..

It was meant to be tongue in cheek, and not directed at you in any way.
IMHO, if you (and by that I mean anyone) feel you MUST buy a release to stay COMPETATIVE by acquiring ONE CARD or THAT ONE SHIP for TOURNAMENT PLAY, well, that's you're problem for being on FFG's Big Hamster Wheel o' Meta .
It's a game, and EVERYTHING is optional.
Personally, I get tired of hearing everyone whine they had to buy a Raider to get Palps. It you are going to treat this game like a sport, and have to have top of the line equipment, then you have to splash the cash.
So, to sum up, I'm pretty sure we are on the same page. And if the paranoid folks are right, well, then, see paragraph 2.

And worst of all is how when the new ships release, they come to your home and force you to buy the new stuff. They're really devious that way.

It's pretty hard to tell with a games company what is an honest attempt to balance the meta and what's a blatant cash grab or even if there's a difference sometimes. We probably all agree that a good, balanced game is one we want to spend money on, right? So from their perspective making a good, balanced meta is designed to sell spaceships. I wouldn't be shocked if TLTs to get hit by the Pendulum of Nerf in the future but I think that's because it is still swinging against the Palp Aces meta. As Imperials go from dominating the meta to being a rare breed, I would expect that Pendulum of Nerf to come back the other way (although I'd wager scum are in the sights for the next nerfing). As to whether you think that's a cash grab is a matter of perspective. Having to buy Imperial Veterans to make your Defenders worthwhile or even more so, the Raider or the CROC to make your Advanceds or Scyks work is arguably a cash grab but it does help balance the meta out. It can be both.
