I can't tell if I can field a group of four infantry upgrades as a single separate unit (four figures in a single tray) or if they have to be placed inside my existing infantry group? Anyone know?

They are all figure upgrades. You can find the rules for figure upgrades in the rules reference. They come with a tray, but you will never field them as a separate unit.

They are a figure upgrade and need to be taken by a unit that has the appropriate slot available. The unit type (Infantry, Siege, or Cavalry) of the unit must match the unit type of the upgrade and the faction of the upgrade must match the faction of the army being used.

Well then it looks like even with the largest formations available for infantry, I will never be able to field both champion upgrades (that 'use up' the champion symbol) at the same time. Seems like a waste because it appears I'll never be able to field the entire upgrade unit at the same time - at least the way the game is currently, even with a 200 pt army. Am I missing something?

Well... it's not a unit, and you're not meant to field the whole box at the same time.

They're upgrades for other units. You can't take two copies of Rank Discipline, either.

You can put two champions in two separate units.

Ok You're right. I just checked and as long as you have 2 separate infantry units of 4 trays each then I can utilize both champions per faction. Nice. Thanks.
