But seriously, why are there no bombs on it? I love how these ships are reminiscent of their design specs, so why not have this come with Proton Bombs and a bomb slot?

So here's my ad hoc justification: Striker is primarily an atmospheric craft that can also engage in space. The bomb launcher is designed for use in atmosphere against primarily ground-based targets, not other space craft.

And on the out-of-universe side, vased on the TFA releases and such, FFG might not have been shown/told that it dropped bombs at all when designing it.

I mean it doesn't in the film so...

Prediction: The TIE Striker will get a bomb slot about two years from now when it shows up in an Aces pack or a Huge ship release.

Except it was explicitly an orbital mine layer

My theory: nobody at FFG knew it was supposed to be a bomber untoil the visual dictionary came out, because it only turned out to be supposed to be a bomber when the visual dictionary came out.

An alternate title replacing Ailerons with a bomb slot an a crew slot would be neat.

That would be a good way to go about it. I do like the 0-point titles as potentially building in future design space by giving the same ship very different functions.

T-70 X-wings have Mag-pulse warheads according to wookieepedia. It is not in X-wing because the cool facts about our ships are released after an X-wing Miniatures version was made.
