It's very to the point.

The Lancer article? If it makes you feel better, I'ma try to have the Pelta article up later today, but we'll see what actually happens.

That was a pun on lances and how they are pointy. No pressure.
How could John of all people have missed a pun? What is the world coming to?

It's Monday, we can give him a pass.
Well, you can't pass on my Pelta article!

I had a light weekend and wrote them both up
Woot woot TIE Phantom
http://cannotgetyourshipout.blogspot.com/2017/05/imperial-squadron-review-tie-phantom.html
Less goofy than that phantom! Maybe...
TIE phaaaaaaaaantom of the Opera is here to eat your faaaace!
I've only seen the Andrew Lloyd Webber one once. That was enough, the non ALW one was much better.
I popped a little comment up, pending approval
And its also potentially
irrelevant
, as the whole article has finished loading, ad ypor probably alreayd had it there, I was just unable to read it at the time

It was unfortunately irrelevant as it was already mentioned in the article (that you can spend a defense token against a 0 damage attack for bamf shenanigans!), but it is frequently overlooked. No worries, I appreciate you checking in on us ;).
I'm glad I already own 4 phantoms so I can try those next...
Spoiler alert for (probably) Wednesday: working on e-wings. Further spoiler alert: there will be much complaining about most books/serieses involving E-wings, and the fact that I had to REMEMBER the Yuuzhan Vong series. Ohhhhhh the Yuuzhan Vong series....... so much rage.

I'm still getting into full swing with them but thus far experimentation has borne out that they're not too shabby but need the right supporting squadrons (specifically TIE Advanced) to really shine. They're awful without a meat shield to keep them healthy. Those 2 red dice against ships are fun but oh so swingy. As luck had it, I played against
@geek19
with them during their first outing and he was not a fan of Whisper jumping all over the station, scattering and bracing damage and then healing back up. She must have avoided/halved/healed at least 8 damage that game, likely more. The station is super duper good for TIE Phantoms, give it a try

I'm liking your explanation and the fact that you're advising people to keep hopping back onto the station with Whisper.
I'm NOT liking that more people will now be trying Whisper out, haha. Stupid not-dying jerk!
@LegionOfBOOM was... How do I put it... Kind enough to play a fleet in the Corellian Campaign whose Squadron component was, essentially, excluseively Phantoms and the odd Lambda.
With Vector to boot, the Phantoms became Fast and Deadly little buggers.
I think they will be awesome with a Quasar and the Squall title. Move 2, move 4 for attack, move 1 during squadron phase to disengage, and repeat...

RAAAAGE!

I dunno. . . I liked the concept of the Vong. . . the books were OK, but which is it that you rage against? The existence of such a race, or the quality of the books they were featured in?

The concept of the race - int eh SW setting.
Finally you have the Jedi back...
...and then you go ahead and focus on plot arcs where the Jedi can't really use their powers.
It started with those ysalamari (?) in the Thrawn books.
This was just more of the same, only worse.
That was my main issue.
Quality of writing was mediocre at best, but certainly not worse than a lot of other SW novels.

I see. I agree with you that bringing back the Jedi only to have their powers immediately nullified twice is annoying (not that I like Jedi too much to begin with, but whatever), but I liked the idea of a Force-less race. So: Idea of race, good-to-decent. Timing (in universe)/writing, meh. Yes?

Nice article (as always), but I wanted to point out that you use EF and ET throughout the article to refer to Entrapment Formation

I think @geek19 was using ET as shorthand for Engine Techs on a Pelta with Entrapment Formation but I also found all the initializations a little confusing from time to time.

That did occur to me, but then there was this bit:
Dodonna
-
AFFM, ET, or StM. Depends on how you've built your list. AFFM is fun with choosing crits like crazy though.
Garm
- All 3, though I can see StM working well with him and some Assault Frigate and MC80 friends.
Biggs has a list that he's built with StM
....
Rieekan
- Generally AFFM or ET. AFFM if you're going fighters, ET if you're going rammer-spammer (CR90B's with Reinforced Blast Doors and Engine Techs)
. . . which made me think otherwise, since if he's listing which cards of the three to use with which commander, then why completely skip over EF when listing them? 'For Rieekn either use AFFM or Engine Techs, [...] the latter if you're flying CR90B's with [...] Engine Techs' is a bit redundant. . .
Anyways it's not a big deal (after all everybody gets your intent), but I thought I might as well point it out.
