Does anyone else NOT look at existing lists?

You guys talk about netlist and tournaments so negatively.

Nobody* shuns people at tournaments. That's BS. I've seen more shunning on here from people acting like tournaments are only for scrubs who don't know what real x wing is.

*At the very least, a statistically insignficant number, like under 1%.

I totally agree with this. Everybody waaay overdoes how good netlists are. There not. I fly netlist rarely, but when I do I still get beat by my buddie flying starviper's! Granted, I don't practice those lists much, but he doesn't either. There are no auto win lists. Tournaments are not hypercompetetive and expensive like ccgs. To everyone who says that, have you ever been to a tournament outside of your local gaming group? Definitely not. You are all speaking nonsense. Also, there is always some funky lists that is better then a netlist. Read that post on funky lists that won tournaments. Can't remember the name but it's really cool.

I look at what people are using and try incorporate known good combos into my style of lists, I almost always fly a Decimator or some form of Bomber or Defender in my lists (my fave ships so far)

I do look at at read tournament lists and want to understand the meta but I fly the ships I like and like to make weird unconventional list because the game is more fun that way. I don't mind flying against meta list but i wished more people who fly what they liked not what they think will always win

What people like and what people think may win are not necessarily mutually exclusive things.
