Hi guys & gals. So when I got the expansions I noticed I got some cool tiles, such as the Hidden Laboratory, the Morgue, Operating Theater and Operating Room.

Are these used in any scenarios? Me and my gf have been watching Riget, an old Swedish/Danish horror tv-series that takes place at a hospital, and both were sort of itching for a scenario in that kind of setting. But to my eyes, none of the current scenarios seem to be themed around something like that?

Are the tiles just a leftover from the first edition?

No such thing thus far - i hope they'll get more use - though i feel dearly departed is inspired by lovecraft's pseudomedicinal "herbert west, reanimator". The setting is someplace else, though.

Hopefully there will be some new DLC with a madhouse theme or something like that.

I noticed the same thing! I keep wondering if there was just something that was being overlooked as far as tile usage. I'm surprised that they would make what is essentially a reprint to work with the new game if they weren't planning on a release with the expansion.

The trouble i'm imagining they have now is that for a new scenario to be designed around those specific tiles as a key to the story, they either need to 1)exclude customers who haven't invested in that particular tile set (not likely to happen?), 2)make those tiles an optional secondary layout for a scenario. But the core set doesn't provide for such a theme. So they might eventually 3) make an expansion to get that covered, in which the currently unused tile set pieces will fill a complementary role.

Yes, I can see where that would be a lack of resources to try and prep DLC content for a limited audience. Maybe homebrew will tackle these tiles.

But you could also turn that around, it might trigger more people to buy the (optional) Tiles & Figures sets.
Which would eventually make it easier for them to reach a bigger audience if they mix tilesets.
