I'll paint something up tomorrow, but I'm in. I've been itching to work on more fighters.
Painting squadron contest
I may actually finish something in time for this,.
My in laws got me the gold squadron Y-Wing Lego set to build with my son for my birthday last week, which inspired me to paint these. Pictures are kind of streaky because i needed a third hand to keep the camera steady, but it will do for now.

Nice painting
Good job
Did a few TIE Fighter squadrons over this week. I'll take a couple more shots tomorrow in better lighting.
(See below for final picture)
Edited by emsgoofRan out of time, but here's the Crimson Dragon Shuttle & VCX
Here's a better picture.
Hopefully tomorrow we have sun, so I can take a good shot of what I've cooked up. Think Ray-Ban
(aka I managed to paint a freaking squadron over the course of the week, was tough to find time alongside the ISD thunderchicken)
I decided to get cheeky and jeweled a cockpit with gold. I call it the Firespray-Ban as it reminds me of a pair of mirrored aviators. Apologize for the phone picture, I didn't feel my DSLR did much except how highlight how bad super close macro photos of painting at 22MP with a 100mm telephoto macro can look
I love it! What gold paint do/did you use?

Vallejo Model Colour gold. most of my metallics are that line, thing them with a touch of water and they are beautiful paints. That is black and gold, blacked it out, bit of gold did the whole thing, the just mixed up in between to pure gold for the extreme highlight progressively.
Edit: Forgot to mention totally stole the jeweling scheme from @Vykes Anytime it may look like I had a cool idea, I probably stole it from him (or occasionally @Polda ) They are founts of painting awesomeness.
Edited by DarthainWell, I'll throw my paint jobs in for this.
The VCX is a continuation of my WWII vibe ships. I did a Lancer and some E-wings in that same olive/red/orange or yellow highlights pattern. I took the VCX up a notch by doing it's belly in grey like you'd find on a B-17. Full disclosure: I randomly found Memphis Belle on one day and it gave me a good idea to run with here.
The Lancer is just a case of I loved the way my Defenders came out in the dark blue. And I wanted to expand upon it. I'm not thrilled with the result.
I was hoping to have a Z95 squad done... that's been a case of hot mess. I need to go get a new fine detail brush. Lines are hard without one.
11th hour entry....
Tie Hunters:
Not sure wtf those are, but fantastically clean work as always Gottmituns
yay TIE Hunters!
Sadly, I didn't get a chance to paint any of mine :/
The Hunters look awesome. Both as a paint job (great job, very well done!) and as a design. Where were they introduced?

- Star Wars: Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike (First appearance)
