So I can only take one.
Should I get Balanced hilt or Extended haft?
If I take extended I will also get falling leaf. Otherwise save for the 4exp Into the force or whatever is is called. What do you think?
Other uppgrades to lookout for?

With Fell Swoop Reach will probably be more powerful as long as Davith can get and stay Hidden. Falling Leaf helps also. So, if there's a choice between them, I would take Extended Haft.
(Weighted Head would also be interesting for finishing a lot of figures in one attacks.)
Reach is better than most people think, even with Davith and even without cleave. I think I'd always take Extended Haft as my first pick.
Falling Leaf is great and for Shrouded Lightsaber I think it's mandatory.

I agree, Reach is probably one of the more underrated abilities. In a pretty normal scenario, it can be equivalent to 2-3 extra movement points per turn - if you're in between 2 figures that are each 2 spaces away, you would have to move to attack one, then move back 2 spaces to attack the other. With reach you can attack them both without moving. If there were an attachment that said "Whenever you attack, gain 1 movement point," that would be a seriously good upgrade. And sometimes that's how good reach is ![]()

I also agree. Reach + Cleave is extremely useful.
A bit off topic: In our JR campaign (we are about to do the finale), Shyla has Electrostaff + Extended haft. Combined with Full Sweep and Swords Dance, she can cleave up to 9 unmitigated damage over three attacks. Without Reach, the Imperial player could more easily avoid the Cleave damage through positioning. However, with Reach, it's pretty hard for the Imperial player to spread figures out enough since both the attack and the Cleave can both Reach.
For Davith, if you plan to get Weighted Head, combined with Falling Leaf, you will often have a lot of surges you can spend which can allow Davith to take down multiple targets each attack. Also, if you are able to get Fell Swoop - the extra attack can really benefit from Reach which may allow you to attack a target you would not have otherwise been in range to attack.
This might be a little off topic but seems reasonably relevant: Some Davith gameplay *SPOILERS* follow:
We just finished our BG campaign last night. Just before the last mission, Davith purchased a Force Pike (Tier 3) and Fell Swoop (4 XP). He already had Radiant Holocron as a reward from a previous mission and Fallen leaf to add a yellow die to his dice pool (exhausts). This was incredibly good, borderline broken. Basically, he could force move for 1 strain then perform an attack with 1 red and 3 yellow dice, he'd then use 2 surges to move 2 spaces and perform a second attack with fell swoop, then use Radiant holocron to ready Fell Swoop and perform a third attack followed by fell swoop for a fourth attack! 4 attacks with 4 "free"movement points, some strain recovery from extra surges and getting re-hidden. It was crazy.
Edit: A lesson learned was that you can only perform abilities that occur "during your activation" before or after an action, not during, ie. Radiant holocron. I think we accidently let it go at least once that radiant holocron was used during an action (following the first fell swoop to allow a second fell swoop = 3 attacks with one action) in retrospect this was wrong. I think we only made this mistake once. Even without this mistake, this combo is brutal.
Edited by VadersMarchKazooI like to play Davith as a single target high damage dealer
Shrouded lightsaber+ Balanced hilt+high impact guard+ Falling Leaf+Embody the force+Hidden= A Trandoshan Hunter is toast no matter his defense result. Even an elite Trandoshan Hunter can be one shoted with reasonably good dice
