Wave 6 card prediction

By EagleScoutof007, in Star Wars: Armada

With the Hammerheads article around the corner, any predictions of cards that can be handy for the rebels? I think we might get an officer upgrade (similar to Tua) that would give a weapons team slot to a ship. Especially since we're getting these new boarding cards. Rebels would need an upgrade to be able to use them on other ships beside the Assault Frigate and probably Hammerhead. Thoughts?

Be very brave to give home one gunnery teams

Indeed - this would be a pretty scary and significant shift.

Not impossible, I think it has a certain perverse attractiveness, and the main weaknesses of the ship would remain. But it would be a big call.

In wave 6 is no card left to bear such effects. We already know about Commander Organa , Garel's Honor , Boarding Engineers and External Racks . There will come: Cham Syndulla (another Boarding Party, probably manipulating Command Dials), Hondo Onaka (probably shifting Command Tokens from ship to ship), Quad Battery Turrets (no knowledge so far, but hoped to improve anti-squadron performance), and Hammerhead Titles Task Force , which seem to bring some new sort of interaction between this ship type.

When you hope for a card to bring additional slots, you will have to pray for wave 7!

I am thinking something that helps counter some of the synergies with the carrier fighter matchups.

Quad Battery may do something like add a AA dice otherwise if you try to AA into a stronghold setup with one AA dice you get nothing.

Taskforce could be interesting. Maybe it will allow both ships to activate at the same time.

Maybe QBT is an increase to the anti-squad battery? As a turbolaser(?) upgrade it would be a wicked opportunity cost. The best AA ship (Raider) couldn't take it

Can't be a turbolaser we haven't seen an upgrade come in an expansion the expansion can't use and qbt comes in the quasar

There's a first time for every thing. If this is a "balance" upgrade they could just want to proliferate as many copies of it as they can as quickly as they can.

Are people completely forgetting that we still have no idea about two cards in the Quesar Fire expansion? (Described as having 10 upgrade cards; two are not pictured in the reveal spread)

Well, not forgetting - a lot of people just don't read that :D

I mean, I do - and here's what we have:

1. Admiral Sloane

2. Squall

3. Stronghold

4. Pursuant

5. Boarding Troopers

6. Quad Battery Turrets

7. Disposable capacitors

8. The Grand Inquisitor

9. ?

10. ?

Its entirely possible that there's a Duplicate of Boarding Troopers, Quad Battery Turrets or Disposable Capacitors... But even then - I dare say they'll be something more straightforward and common - like Wing Commander or Engineering Captain.

People totally don't have enough Engineering Captains.

I used to think that, at one time. . . they were equipped to all my ships in every list. . . now? I seldom even fill the officer slot. . .

Here's another thought, if we're getting a card that gives another upgrade slot like I mentioned in my original post for rebels would it be an offensive retrofit slot? Put boarding parties on an MC30? XD

Flight Controllers would be nice!

I don't think we will see Flight Controllers anywhere, which is unfortunate. But after all FFG wants to keep selling those VSDs...

I also thought about an upgrade officer to add an Offensive Retrofit slot to allow boarding for MC30s. Then I considered that no one in their right mind can desire to have that put on Yavaris...

9. Rebel unique only - Captured Ship

Allows Rebels to field imperial ship.

(I know it will never happen)

good, unless it was small ship only. I don't see them taking over a VSD or ISD or something

I definitely glossed right over that fact, but I now know better... and there's a whole fourteen cards in the Hammerhead box! Who knew? (Both of you aside...)

So the Quasar has 2 mystery cards, plus QBTs. The Hammerhead has 5 mystery cards, plus Hondo/Cham/QBTs/Task Force X&Y.

Thing is, some of the Hammerhead cards might be doubled up as well, to go along wit the doubled ships cards.

So really, its might be like, 4 cards doubled each, and then the rest are the individual uniques.

This one's really hard to predict and guess, as there is no precedent for it.

Sure, duplicates of every non-unique would make sense in a double box. Would mean we get X/2 copies of Leia/Garel's instead of X copies, where X is the number of Hammerhead boxes we buy. In which case there wouldn't be any unshown cards left.

But, for now, it remains a mystery (if one with a highly probable answer). We might get an article Friday that reveals the Hammerhead box ships with five copies of Engineering Captains... :D

Why not? In the books they did it all the time. In Lost Stars they tried to do it mid-battle.
