Regarding Sloane....

By Darth Lupine, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Please disregard, I answered my question.

It wouldn't be a terrible idea to reinstate it, for the sake of others who might have wondered the same thing?

Fine, a bit modified.

say I have my awesome six dice Interceptor roll against, oh, Tycho. I manage to somehow roll 2 accuracies, and Sloane is in command.

Can I force Tycho to spend his scatter twice, thereby discarding it?

No.

It is a "While" trigger, which means you can only spend 1 of them for Sloane's effect. In effect, you could do the scatter once, but the other accuracy would have to be spent in the usual way - it can;t be used by Sloane.

Thank you Dras, this is why I had deleted it, as I had figured it out....lol. Thanks for confirming.

No worries. If nothing else, having a question / answer is a record for people to search... Shouldn't ever feel stupid for asking a question, after all :)

I'll add on to this post.

If you roll 1 accuracy and spend 1/2 ships Scatter; can the defender use the other or since the one has been spent it counts as that defensive token type being spent for the defender's turn?

As I tried to cover previously - only the defender is under the restriction that they can only spend one of each token each turn.

So the Attacker can spend a Token, and the Defender can spend a Token of the same type - as long as it is not the exact same token, its good.

Thank you. I thought that was right, but I 'm not around the rule book and couldn't find if it was stated as defender or just token and I know this is the first upgrade of this type; and I know that you, Undead or GK (and some others I am forgetting) are crazy fast onanswers.

Why can't the defender spend the same token that the attacking Sloane player spent?

Easy One to miss :D

Check the wording difference between these two rules - both are on Page 4 of the RRG.

• The defender cannot spend more than one defense token of each type per attack.

• A defense token cannot be spent more than once during an attack.

- The second point, the fact that a defense toen cannot be spent more than one during an attack - is not defender based , like the oether.

So if Sloane spends it during an attack, by spending her ACC result - the Defender cannot use it that attack, as it has already been spent.

But if, for eample, a ship has 2 redirects and Sloane spends one... The Defender can spend the other , because the restriction on two of the same tokens being spent is on the Defender, and they didn't spend the first one - Sloane did.

Good observations. Thanks.
