Flotillas Useless Now!

Nope, now that disposable capacitors are revealed, flotillas instantly die to Vic-ii's, are never worth taking, Rieekan Aces auto lose, Imperials are OP, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!!!! Rieekan is useless, Rebel squadrons are pointless, flotillas are dead on sight now!

Looks like people just can't do math. Even with H9 VSD2 will generate enough damage to one-shot flotilla less than 50% of the time.

these troll threads antagonizing people who are concerned for the health of the game are really not helping the general ambiance of the forums.

And dare I say, we use less hysterical language when we share our concerns.

4.125 average damage and 0.375 average accuracies. With the evade, it is indeed unlikely the VSD will one shot a flotilla on a consistent basis. However, the risk is high for the flotilla's commander. Would you really to want to risk giving it a clean shot?

I love what DCaps have done for the VSDII. It has the highest damage potential of any ship at long range. Gunnery Teams, H9s, and DCaps is just wonderful.

funny how one 3 points upgrade makes a ship viable again.

Yeah, it's interesting. Gonna be a lot more staying in the back and trying not to get shot. I don't foresee 2 VSDs as that starts getting expensive, even with Jerry. But it does look like it's going to be priority number one for shooting.

One way to make flotilla death more likely is to have a 4- pack of sloane/ties to throw out there as well. Either you burn the scatter from the tie attacks, or you plink a couple of points of damage, and the evade isn't enough to save the blimp.

I see a single VSD II having having a good place as a support by fire ship. Think of it as space artillery.

I disagree that the VSD-II was not viable until now. I typically fly the VSD-I, it's true, but that's as a carrier. When I want a gunship, I fly the -II, 'cause of its range. Jerry brought back the VSDs from relative obscurity as gunships by fixing their maneuverability. DCs merely make you more willing to go out of your way to fit one in a list.

Don't worry, well get our good stuff in a week or so. Plus that VSD didn't get harder to kill, just better at killing. Stay outta the front, it'll be ok.

well, I'm mostly a rebel player, but if it makes the people I play against happy, I'm good with it. That way I get more games, they get to fly more types of lists... It's all good.

Eh, you still have Defiance. Not completely screwed. Same thing with ISDs though. Only the vic2 can take Leading Shots and use them. And that's a LOT of points invested in a Vic2 for one, maybe 2 uses a game.

He's joking. It's obvious he's joking. The whole tone is deliberately over the top and the bad attempt at coded pig Latin makes it clear he'd mostly like to discuss what people think Rebel fleets will do in reaction to new Imperial options. That's all.

If making jokes lightly aimed at the tendency of forum-goers to extremely overreact to things is trolling, then most of the best commenters on this forum are trolls. Ridiculing the ridiculous is natural and I don't see the harm so long as it's not mean-spirited or personal.

With Spinal Armament and Leading Shots in there I'd be curious as to what the averages come out to. It would be even better with Vader instead of Leading Shots so you can keep the whole dice pool.
