This is the one at NOVA correct?

If you're in the US, yes.

International Locations havn't been announced yet.

Top 64.... well crap, looks like I'm going home with nothing lol

Top 8 get 5 alt arts??? And it's double sided with GR-75 and Gozanti?

I want me that swag! In fact, if I ever find these on Ebay after Nationals, I may just buy them. Or at the very least, that Major Rhymer card.

That's pretty cool all around. It is a little weird to me though that the defense tokens are being spread across all levels of play. Very, very few people will be able to get a full set of them.

Where do you imagine Canadian Nationals may be? If it's in Vancouver or Calgary, I'm much more likely to attend than anything East Coast in the US.

Odds on Toronto. By a wide, wide, wide margin.

Mostly because that's where Lion Rampant is. They're likely to either do it themselves like last year, or re-partner with the big Con over there... The do it themselves is more likely than anything.

I tried to raise the point last year to bring it over here, and I was rebuffed completely... Apparently, some of the BC Players have let me know that they're going to try to comprehensively bid for it out West, and I hope they have more success than I did - but I still highly doubt it, mostly because of the time and effort it would take for Rampant to send employees to handle it, because it was my understanding from FFG, that its theirs to organise for the most part... Their responsibility if it screws up in someone elses hands... My info is now years-old on that, though, so it may have changed in the meantime.

If it was going to be Calgary - I would know.

Also, it would be in April, since that's Calgary Comic Expo.

Yeah, I'm afraid you're probably right.

Still, a fellow can dream, can't he? Dream of those beautiful acrylic contain tokens...

The gencon north american championships share this prize pool also, right?

Possibly Not.

North American Championships are likely to share the European Championships swag - or be completely on their own.

Since that is what they are most similar to, rather than nationals - Nations are different to the Championships.

Yeah just looked up european swag. So to ebay for the rhymer, and the glossed transports are but a dream even on the secondary market unless i am willing to risk divorce.

Same with the command tokens. I am still missing a set. Looks really stupid when you mix them :( .

And only good it is the assault gozanti. It would be really expensive for me, if it would have been the other one  .
So we have both GR-75 after the nationals? Only missing the Gozanti Cruiser?

I'Ll have to start ordering alt-art cards...

Hm, I may have to go to this German outfit for acrylic defense tokens:

http://www.miracle-versand.de/Acryl/Star-Wars-Armada-Zubehoer-Commando-und-Verteidigung-Defense.html

I ordered X-Wing acrylics through them. Those were really amazing.

(But, they're also pretty expensive.)

Good looking out. I prefer to get official FFG tokens if at all possible but the defense tokens for Armada are gonna be hard to come by and pricey, so third-party it is for me. I was eyeing the Cog O Two tokens and have been putting off ordering some because I wanted to get a hold of them and ask how much it cost to order painted tokens versus painting them myself but these look really nice. You're right, they are a bit pricey, and I haven't even looked to see how much shipping to the US is. 4 of the tokens sets and one of the "Choose 6 of any type" would net me 8 evades, 8 braces, and 6 each of the other types for a bit under 50€ before shipping. Kind of expensive, I've got plenty of the official command tokens so I don't need those, and I would still prefer to have a higher quantity of defense tokens that that (12 each sounds good to me and is a decent amount if I was sharing components for a 2p game). I'll get fed up using the cardboard tokens at some point real soon though and will probably pull the trigger on these.

I wish more US-based companies made tokens for Armada. There's what, Corsec and then a few sellers on Etsy and that's about it? And none are nice acrylic like the above link but plain plastic or rough-looking 3D printed plastic.

For those in Australia Nationals are being held at the Games Cube Parramatta in Sydney NSW on August 19th-20th

looks like i need to top 4, gotta get my wave 6 practice in hard when that drops

Unlike in the other nationals kits -coughx-wingtemplatescough - there's nothing in there I don't like, it's a really good kit.

So, no participation prize, so anyone out of the Top 64 gets nothing, seems legit FFG.

Oh wow, I didn't even notice the acrylic speed dials until just now. Top 4 for Nationals though? They just put an acrylic turn dial in an OP kit, so I was hoping for speed dials in the future. There goes my hope for getting those then.

Too bad the double-sided flotilla card is plastic, too. It is too cool and I'm sure a lot of people would like to get their hands on one. Five of them being given out means we should see some pop up for sale from time-to-time, but the card being plastic is sure to drive up the price to ridiculous levels.

There was a speed dial in the OP kit? I thought it was a turn dial.

As far as i thought the speed dials were only on worlds so far.

Edit: Reading is a skill i need to master one day....

Con happened in March, so likely independent.

Don't sweat the acrylic speed dials, they are awful and near unreadable across the table. Couple locals had them from 2016 worlds.

Doesn't necessarily have to happen "this year", it can be March next year for Nationals.

Hmmm, I guess I didn't even know that a previous tournament included speed dials as prizes. I'm surprised I haven't seen any on the market over the last few months that I've been buying up Armada stuff. I just looked them up and saw them though. I wonder how similar they are to the turn dial, because I like the turn dial. It has a nice heft to it due to its chunky-ness.
