Well yeah, no point in an upgrade that annot be used by the attached ship.

Dammit, I just realized it's going to be a Weapons Team isn't it?

Doesn't have to be. They included Boarding Party which uses that slot.

Bit behind on this topic, so potentially already been said, but I think some fun can be had with disposable capacitors and various ion canons.

In particular, a Raider II with Overload Pulse, alongside an Avenger ISD. It's a combination I love, and have used to good effect at times, but very often the Raider explodes just trying to get into medium range. With this, the overload becomes much more reliable for at least a turn; with Screed, it's guaranteed.

Yes, but Boarding Troopers also uses the same slot as Disposable Capacitors.

Not just Overload Pulse, it also makes a strong case for NK-7s where you flyby to turn off a key defense token at the same time or the turn before.

On one version you get two slots though!

Anyone else keep thinking that the Disposable Capacitors is an Ion Cannon slot since it pertains to blues? It is constantly messing me up as I make up lists in my head....

Nope, i've been completely disconnected from that type of thinking since the MC30 Torpedo Frigate came out :D

Actually, on both versions you get two slots. One one you have a spare Offensive Retrofit, on the other you have a spare Weapons Team slot.

So on one you would have BTs + DCs, and the other could have BTs + Weapons Team

What made me think is how much the Quasar is a ship of extremities. For instance its threat range with Pursuant or Squall plus Disposable Capacitors is almost ridiculous. On the other hand, its being threaten range is also huge. With only one Redirect and Brace and only two shields per facing evn a few red dices cold cause it a problem. So if you have this ship in your fleet you'll definitely need something that covers it.

I checked Squall with Rhymer, Boba, Maarek, Morna, Jendon, Decimator.

Squall on speed 3 squadrons. The squadron with less range is Rhymer.

That's obscene. :D

How does that work?

Deploy the ship within distance 3. The closest to the enemy.

Deploy squadrons within distance 2. The closest to the enemy. You will need other ships to allow this probably.

R-B-M-D-Mk-J

Q(speed2)

Activate the quasar. Move Boba, Morna and Dec. Then activate with the Quasar (Tarkin, veteran officer, coms net). Rhymer...The rest...Jendon to double shoot with Maarek (actually with however of them).

Easy to counter but, man, that are several of good anti ship dice on enemy deployment zone the first round. :D
