Updated Nose Punch then?
Don't worry Dras, everybody knows you are the genius behind the tactic.

Yep, what he just said
Loving it! I can't wait to try some full on carrier group tactics. A Q-fire, mix of TIE-bombers with Rhymer and TIE-intercepters, with Howlrunner and Dengar. Throw a mix of Arquintes, GSDs and Raiders to protect the squishy carrier.
Seems to me this ship is going to have at least two iterations on the battlefield.
1) long range meduim carrier, activating 3-4 (4-5 with token)fighters at a distance using comms or a pair of shuttles. With the red dice version adding harassing reds against fighters and ships.
1) The sacrifice, probably the cheaper blue dice version, running in close, using boarders, activating in that 6 group of fighters/bombers, firing blue dice, maybe ramming/blocking and then getting swatted like a house fly.

Right, but now the imps have a cheap carrier to bait opponents into trying to make a run through a GSD, Raider Picket. Do it and they get punished by the Pickets, concentrate on the Pickets, and the squadrons will eat them. Pick your poison.

yep I kind of see both versions working well with a mixed group of small ships, glads and raiders. Picking depending on how aggressive your style of play is, since I'm an impatient agressive sort I would run the sacrifice with demo and raiders.
I just checked and the only Rebel ship that can more or less use the Disposable Capacitors is the Pelta. So it's an almost Imperial-exclusive card.
Alot of people seem upset that the Quasar may not completely be 100% better than running 2x gozanti.
I don't think it was ever supposed to be. I'd actually be disappointed if it made another ship irrelevant. It's different. It is more expensive than 2x gozanti, but it's still cheap for a medium ship. It has respectable firepower for it's price point. It's got a variant with a red anti squadron die... an incredibly unique feature... and it has some awesome potential with it's double weapons team or double offensive retrofit slots.
It is different.
Just because it has a squadron value of 4 doesn't mean it's meant to be identical to 2x gozanti.

I'm taking my 5 minutes of fame on this...
Because lets face it, all I get the rest of the time is Infamy.
Quasar seemed very lightly armed in expanded universe & rebels cartoon. I thought less guns & cheaper would have been more thematically in keeping as well as keeping the cost down.

Well, it is very lightly armed and very cheap for a medium ship.

Granted. But what I meant was as far as I can tell the ship had minimal front guns & no side or rear at all. Regardless the size of the base.
Really the QF is just a cut+paste of the carrier portion of an ISD. You want to have massive fighter alpha strike activation without all the bloat attached to an ISD? There ya go, the hangar deck of an ISD strapped to engines with a few other things tacked on to be the best non-title carrier in the game. If you want more shooty, go to an ISD. If you don't want to compromise, take a VSD. If you want activations and don't really want squadron 4+, take flotillas.
Since basically half of the Imperial faction is nothing but medium-large ships, we need to make the most of them. "Our" fighters are comparatively cheaper, but they're so hyper specialized that you can't win as hard as Rieekan's Speedbump apocalypse list does because you can't handle all threats. This is where Sloane comes in, allowing your cheap air supremacy fighters to do what they do best (kill fighters) and strike capital ships in places where it hurts: targeted defense token exhaustion.
Suddenly the pitty little blue dice every TIE Fighter is throwing has a better chance now of doing damage, or stunning something that ship's going to need when it's defending.
Before now you had no reason to take any generic TIE Fighters, or really any of the TIE/LN TIE/IN aces, because the game wasn't won by annhilating squadrons. It was Rhymer and his bomber friends all the way down. With Sloane we have some leverage on those fighters against killing capital ships, and with the Quasar we have strong alpha strikes with some titles to make this great.
The only downside to all of this is that there's little love for the gunship lists. DCaps are going to make VSDs relevant again, but the QF's cards do more for strong fighter apocalypse lists than big ship play. This is a case of being unable to beat them, join them, rather than rectifying the situation.
Ah well. Name of the game is still going to be squadrons for this upcoming wave, only now the Empire might have an interesting response to the Yavaris build at last.

The Home One Command Cruiser says "Hi!"

That's all it can do, since it is a Large ship.
BTW, I'm interested in finding out if the Quad Battery Turrets end up being a Offensive Retro or an Ion Cannons upgrade. I'm guessing it's the latter given the word "battery" in the title. But a OR would be awesome.

99.9% its an Offensive Retro or Gunnery Slot.
- It is packaged in the Quasar, and they have never packaged an Upgrade that at least 1 version of the ship it was packaged with couldn't use it...

Well yeah, no point in an upgrade that annot be used by the attached ship.
Dammit, I just realized it's going to be a Weapons Team isn't it?
Nah, it'll likely be a offensive retrofit. And that'll be awesome!
