Are you a one faction player?

I own almost everything, and two or more of most that I enjoy flying. I think I own 8 A-Wings..... and no one (even me) knows why I own 4 E-Wings.... but hey, plastic crack is plastic crack.

I primarily play rebels, but I've been toying around more and more with imperial and scum stuff recently. Flying what I like mostly, ie: making Phantoms and Vader work in this meta is pretty tough.

I don't own 8 A-Wings, but 4 TIE Punishers and 5 TIE Bombers have found their way into my Plano boxes because I always think I'm going to play Epic some day. Unfortunately, my local gaming group wants nothing to do with it.

I'm looking forward to the TIE/Agressor release to be able to fly Brute Hogs.

I buy everything, I like to collect. I am Imperial at heart though they fly different than reb and scum which to me fly very similiar with different upgrades. I like scum the least though.

I'm not that much into Scum & Villainy but Mercenaries could be promising. Think about it how much better your Boba Fet would be for your Galactic empire Squadron if he could re-roll dice instead of switching banks?;)

I was discussing this with my regular opponent recently. He plays mostly Rebels but has amassed some Scum as there is a lot of cross over with their ships. I have the Autothrusters expansion pack (it is it the StarViper? :D). Anyway we were thinking about 40k. When we played (2nd edition, yes that was the 1990s) you could take allies as a proportion of your list. We thought that taking Scum by the other factions should be in the main rules so I'm glad you've taken the effort to do this. I'm sure we'll try it soon but we might be fighting over who takes the Jumpmaster!

Glad you considered it. I'm thinking about trying out maybe a few round or even (if I get my life in order) a Vassal tournament using this format allowing the spoiled C-ROC cards to be played, just to see how it works out. A lot of people are opposed to the idea of faction mixing especially those coming from post 5th edition 40k (I mean come on, Tau as "Battle Brothers" with Space Marines? Utter Hersey!). That being said there is a hard line in the format that isn't crossed and that is Rebel-Imperial. But even then my idea of keeping the balance between the primary and allied factions is the restrictions on mercenaries, and the sacrifice of one subfaction to take another (mercenaries).

I go through phases, definitely one for ship play style than faction.

I never play Rebels. I used to be pretty balanced between playing Scum and Imperial, but since Scum is everywhere now I play Imperials more than anything. Now, when we get more wookiees, this may change. Lol.

I play everything, but have mained Scum since they arrived on the scene.

I'm not a big fan if the Rebel's style - mostly hugh health, low agility ships with damage mitigation and/or regen. It's all attrition, and although some like to remove the green dice from the equation, U think it's half of the fun.

The Empire on the other hand hasn't really inspired me model-wise since Wave 4. The Imperial Assault Carrier and Imperial Veterans are pretty much the only expansions I've picked up since then. The flying style appeals to me (high agility, aces) but I've struggled to master it.

Scum on the other hand offers really good variety in play styles, and a range of dirty tricks to ness around with.

I've been messing around with all 3 factions. I started Rebel only... but picked up equal Imperial ships so I could trick a friend to play ;) Now I've gotten some Scum ships and... yeah... I'm REALLY hoping they don't make a 4th faction or I'm gonna be SUPER broke XD

My collection seems like imperial players, 75% of my ships are imperial and i have everything.

But for some reason in casual play i always end up fielding rebels to avoid mirror faction matches with some half-assed list. Not sure when i used my imp collection for the last time.

Nope. The concept of "one faction" is alien to me, probably because XWM is only the seond minis game I've played, and the first (DDM) didn't encourage single-faction play, either.

I buy all the ships, and multiples of most, because I have very few restrictions on my disposable income. (And I channel my OCD into collecting.)

Yep.

I won't settle for just a third of a game experience. ;)

Yep.

I buy them all, I play them all (my poor poor wallet)

Yep.

My play style means I have less success with Imperials but I fly them anyway. I like to have 1 of every large and huge ship and 2 or more of every small. Through wave 8, I am about 80% to that goal. Its not about competitive play at all either. I play in a few local leagues but even then I just play for fun. I really like four ship lists that use either all one ship type or two pairs: two X's and two A's, two Khiraxz and two Y's. Someday, I may get up to 4-6 each of my favorite smalls so my epic matches have real squadrons instead of just a mish mosh.

I only fly Scum & Villainy, but I'll buy other factions if I want a particular upgrade card I want. It works out because my best friend only flies Imperial, so we'll just give each other the ships or upgrades we don't use.

I strictly play Rebels. Though Protectorate Starfighters are pretty cool looking. I may dip into Scum a bit to fly them.

I play all three factions about equally throughout a year. I tend to go a month with a single list (and it's variations), before swapping factions to try something new. I've found each faction has it's own feel when playing, so I'll play a faction based on what I want to experience:

Imperials are easy - they give seat-of-the-pants flying with high stakes, but massive victories when everything goes right. I'll play them when I feel like a challenge, normally against a superior player.

Scum are a bit harder to define, but I'd say they give me the opportunity to take what makes my opponent's list great, and ruin it. I play them at tournaments often (non-meta, don't worry), and when I feel like a lot of fun with super-casual lists.

Rebels are super difficult (unless playing Biggs), but they give a feeling of teamwork and accomplishment when they win against the superior factions (I don't run Sabine...). I'll play them when I want to feel good about my wins, and during epic games because their abilities stack so well.

I play everything; I only play casual and usually it's a block of time with several local players (great Meetup group) so I will often shift lists for the 3-4 matches I usually get in.

The problem is that there are SO many things to try; I have older lists I like to break out now and again, as well as trying to keep up with all the new release and different combinations of ships. I wish I could say I've tried all pilots and upgrades, but at least I can now say I've tried every ship at least once.

i used to grab at least one of every ship. then i noticed i had a growing number of ships i never played. then i started specializing in one faction. Scum. I still like playing imperials occasionally but i wont play rebels unless i have a gun to my head.

hey RW! i remember yo from the ol days when we were helping develop Scarlet Cowgirl. Remember that? man has the game changed since then. So many ships. I love the addition of scum but the power creep has shelved so many ships. eg firespray is a rare bird now. You still see it but it makes u think fondly of the old days way back in like wave3 eh? Remember when fat han was the list to beat? and then the double falcon lists? now xwingers have all new technological terrors called jumpmasters to defeat ;)

to me it makes sense financially to focus on one faction primarily. you should still buy some ships from other collections but unless u r a collector your wallet is going to feel the hurt of you not playing ships that u just bought for the upgrades imo.

My favorite minis game but just can't keep up.

And yes...those were the good ole days. Can you imagine a meta where some semblance of that list is good again?

I consider myself a Resistence player. I like T-70 X-Wing the most. Recently however, I have bought in some Scum and Villainy (because of Slave I) just to offer my wife something else to fight then other Rebels. But I still feel I'm one faction player. I really have Resistence as Primary faction and then I have som scum which I play occationaly.

So at the moment you are a one ship player? :P

I only play Scum, I have ships from other factions but really only for the upgrades. Used them a couple of times but only interested in Scum at the moment. Started off when the Most Wanted pack was out and just stuck with it ever since. Still running bro-bots mostly :D

Not exclusively but I tend to find myself gravitating usually towards Rebs because I think their ships just suit my flying style.

I only play Imperial, because I only fly TIEs, because Star Wars: TIE Fighter.

I fight for the glorious Empire of course.

Ever since I was young, I looked at the Imperial ship designs (of the games and movies, some of the EU stuff is...yeah) and drooled. I still remember flying around in TF as a Defender shredding a pathetic X Wing to pieces with my linked cannons, or disabling a slow y wing with my ion cannons as he just sat there and watched his squadron get torn apart by my wrath.

Shame it took this game a while to replicate that feeling for Defenders...

I'm a two faction player. I haven't actually put Scum on the table yet, despite owning most of it.

I really should. Fenn Rau gets me excited every time I see him nuke me off the table with his unlimited prockets.

Rebels only. I got a StarViper for Christmas, which I gutted for the Autothrusters and traded off. I've traded for a few other non-Rebel upgrades, but have never bought anything non-Rebel, nor do I plan to (cross-faction like the Scurrg H-6 Bomber doesn't count). Just like the Rebels, I'll make do with what I have!

I followed the game when it came out loved the game engine but was not interested in a Star Wars game. Then TFA came out and I got into Rebels. When I heard the Ghost was coming, I got in. But I needed to focus my collection for monetary, bandwidth, and really only wanted to play Rebels. So I got a starter and traded off the Ties for more X-Wings, picked up some A-Wings and a Rebel Aces. I am reasonably happy as a casual Rebels only player. Some of the more important upgrades have not made it into my collection yet. I did strip the Autothrusters from a Starviper, but a friend was playing Scum and it helped him out.

That new Shadow Caster is very tempting, though.
