I was hoping that this wouldn't end up just being every faction has the same classes..
Great! Needed mobility paired with brute force and nice figures.

Love that dial. So much flexibility in their marches and charges.
They can take artifacts. Reaping Blade, Shield of Margath or even Dusk Blade (with Combat Ingenuity) would all work nicely on them,
I'm not much of a fan of horses, but those Equius Cumir are so cool! Flesh-eating steeds?! I am loving this faction!
Interesting that they have the same march speed at two different initiative values. Does anybody else have that? Lots of mind games to be had here. Especially with Raven Tabards to bring the initiative 5 march down to a 4, but you'd need the full 2x3 formation to take that Heraldry upgrade.
This will be a lot harder to resist then the xbow men. I was a little disappointed the steeds weren't skellital but I do like the vampiric horses, definitely needs glowing eyes!

I'm excited to see what their new 'condition' will be. Interesting that they called it a condition and not a bane. Must've been an x-wing writer

I can see the appeal of keeping the armies asymmetric like that, but with only 3 unit types, I expected each army to get their own versions of siege, cavalry, and infantry units, with both ranged and melee units. However, I really hoped the armies would be asymmetric like that until all four factions were released. Oh well.

Yeah, I was really disappointed that they didn't talk about it. As soon as I read that, I started skimming the article to get to the new "condition."

I do think it's probably just a bane. The 'condition card' will just be a reference card telling us what a new bane does. However if it was truly a new game mechanic then it would be interesting since it wouldn't be removed by inspiration or rally.

I agree, but I just couldn't bring myself to call it a "bane" since we don't know for sure. Honestly, one of the reasons I was most excited about it is because it gives us a precedent for adding new banes and boons, and that means that the door is officially open for adding poison banes when the Viper Legion is released!

I can tell I haven't played much because at first I was like, "Yeah, I guess." And then slowly it dawned on me just how good this will be in the early rounds. I totally dig it!
The more I think about putting Reaping Blade on these guys, the scarier they get. Take Reaping Blade + Rank Discipline and set a Mortal Strike on the dial and you've got a really good chance to get 2 or 3 mortal strikes in a single attack.
As expected we got death knights (*throws up metal horns). I would prefer skeleton horses but the sculpts horses looks nice so I'm ok with it. Not sure about the riders though, they look a bit overdesigned and stale. Could be tha paintjob or the fact that there isn't a good close veiw of the sculpts. The knight on the artwork looks badass so hopefully the sculpts live up to it when we get a closer look.
Expensive, but they got a great dial with a bunch of blue tricks. 3 defense and resistance to mortal strikes makes them very durable without having to spend an modifier to boost it. Impact blue is gonna be brutal with 2 red dice, even against non panic foes it's not unfeasable to get a 3+ moral test on the charge! That's devastating. I also like that they feel diffirent from carrion lancers. Lastly anything that get's stuck in with them will have to deal with that mortal strike modifier.
I do feel that they should have had steadfast doubt and fear but they got a bunch of candy so I'm not gonna complain.
Wow did I ever pick the wrong faction. How do the undead not just run over the humans every single time.
It's funny that these horses are mobile enough to shift while the Oathsworn Cavalry cannot. Coming from BattleLore where Death Knights have a speed of 2 and Riverwatch Riders have a speed of 4, it certainly wasn't something I expected.

Hopefully Daqan get some light cavalry that are more mobile, but dont hit as hard (or something)

I think new light cavalry would be awesome. You could also just use a titles system similar to x-wing to accomplish this I think.
Fantastic looking unit. Let's hope we hear about the Uthuk Y'llan soon and not just more elf units beforehand. Not that I don't like any new unit reveals regardless of faction!

As a person who will be transitioning to elves... I agree. I think a fourth faction is important to the longevity and success of this game.

Plus if they reveal a new faction we get to see more new unit's rather than just a single elf unit!

This was my thought, as well. Now that both core factions have their heroes previewed and new units announced, they are on equal ground. Now is the perfect time to reveal the Uthuk Y'llan. I've got my hopes up for next week! But I'm prepared for disappointment, as well.
