Firespray Support

By Browncoat50, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Testing a new imperial run. I want to use the firespray as a support ship, and here is the best I could come up with (this will most likely stay casual and not be brought to tournament)

Krassis Trelix, flechette cannon, tactician, tactical jammer, xx23s thread tracers

Omega leader, juke and comm relay

Backdraft, VI, FCS, title and weapons guidance

I guess my main question is would tactician and flechette work together? Since shooting with cannon gives stress if not already stressed is the first effect, and then if at range 2, tactical add additional stress. Or am I missing something?

That's how Tactician and Flechette Cannon interact, yes.

But Imperial Firesprays are just not worth the points.

Oh I know, I mainly fly them as scum, but trying to get the most out of my collection

If you want to do a support firespray, go with Kath.

Something like this:

Firespray-31: · Kath Scarlet (38)
Cluster Missiles (4)
Guidance Chips (0)
· Slave I (0)
Extra Munitions (2)
TIE/fo Fighter: · "Omega Leader" (21)
Juke (2)
Comm Relay (3)
TIE/sf Fighter: · "Backdraft" (27)
Adaptability (Increase) (0)
Fire Control System (2)
Special Ops Training (0)
-- TOTAL ------- 99p. --

Chimps, clusters, and her ability means that she can do a double stress twice. If you can find the points for a Tactician on her, she can triple stress in some turns.

Chimps are only once per round, so the second stress from Clusters will only work if you naturally roll a crit.

Whoops, so they are. I had honestly never noticed that before.
