Need advices for squadron coverage

By Rimsen, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hey dear Community!

I'm a relatively new player to the game, and I always preferred playing with ships and minimal squadrons so I don't have much experience in this area.

Could you give my some advice how to choose proper squadron coverage for this list?

Commander: Admiral Motti

Assault Objective: Station Assault
Defense Objective: Fire Lanes
Navigation Objective: Sensor Net

Interdictor-class Suppression Refit (90 points)
- Interdictor ( 3 points)
- Damage Control Officer ( 5 points)
- Phylon Q7 Tractor Beams ( 6 points)
- G-8 Experiemental Projector ( 8 points)
- G7-X Grav Well Projector ( 2 points)
= 114 total ship cost

Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
- Slicer Tools ( 7 points)
= 30 total ship cost

Interdictor-class Suppression Refit (90 points)
- Damage Control Officer ( 5 points)
- Phylon Q7 Tractor Beams ( 6 points)
- Grav Shift Reroute ( 2 points)
- G7-X Grav Well Projector ( 2 points)
= 105 total ship cost

[ flagship ] Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
- Admiral Motti ( 24 points)
- Comms Net ( 2 points)
= 49 total ship cost

Raider-I Class Corvette (44 points)
- Instigator ( 4 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Flechette Torpedoes ( 3 points)
= 55 total ship cost

The main goal is to go for second with a 7-8 point bid, and use the survivability of the Interdictors, to get a lot of points. The Slicer Tool Gozanti and the Raider is probably lost, though the Dictors might punch down 1-2 smaller ships, while the Slicer Tools and the Tractor Beams controlling the big scary ones from getting the most damage out of them, mitigating the rest.

I fear mostly from bomber balls, I feel like the Raider can deal with that, for 2-3 turns until it's destroyered or flown by. Getting deployment advantage would be great, but that would mean 4 TIEs or something liek that, which can't be commandered well in this fleet. 2 decimators maybe, for helping out the raider, or chasing lifeboats, but that would leave me with almost no bid.

Thanks for the help!

I think 4 TIEs--maybe one of them Gamma squadron--would help you out here. Expect Instigator to take some shots, but prevent as many as you can by screening it with your TIEs to get it those sweet FT shots in.

The Slicers are pretty decent squadron mitigation in many circumstances, though personally I run Slicer Tools in pairs.

Also, if definitely be running Contested Outpost rather than Fire Lanes with this list. Strategic squadrons will steal those tokens right away, and your GSR lets you park that outpost waaaay back behind your defenses. Similarly Sensor Net is going to get turned around on you hard against Strategic; consider Dangerous Territory, or maybe Solar Corona or Navigation Hazards.

In this case which would the most suitable flagship? The cheaper Interdictor, to save some points if it gets targeted / destroyed? I think a Slicer Tool Gozanti for life boat is a bit suicidal ^^

Great point, though strategic squadrons mess with Dangerous Territory more, since I can't claim a token which isn't on an obstacle, and it can be moved off. Also Solar Corona doesn't give me points, which would be the point, since the fleet really lacks the sheer force. It's rather a strategic fleet. Navigation Hazards only porblem as I see, that the popular rebel ships won't have problem getting around the obstacles (CR90, MC30, even Nebulons) I can make the slow ships ways full of obstacles, but since not much damage in the fleet, I feel It still wouldn't help out against an ISD or MC80, etc. Though strategic squadrons can help the enemy, with there movement we are still more or less even in moving the tokens, and he needs to activate the squadrons to do so. I think I can take that risk.
