Torps on Fenn and Old Teroch?

I have not seen any use torpedoes on Fenn and Teroch - Why is that?

Because you want autothrusters on Fenn and Teroch. Otherwise, they have the potential to explode very fast. With that said, try the Advanced proton torps. It is 6 points, but it's 5 dice, and Fenn's ability would make it 6. You won't need guidance chips because they turns 3 blanks to a focus, and your mindlink list should give Fenn a focus.

Kevin Leintz and Drew Bishop both had OldManFenn at worlds and Fenn was equipped with plasmas.

Guidance Chips preclude taking Autothrusters, losing you one of the puzzle pieces that make the Fang Fighters so **** slippery.

Spending points to add a die to attacks in the range bands that Protectorate Starfighters really, really dont want to be in is a matter of luxury. If a list I'm concocting has the points to spare to give Fenn Rau or Old Teroch some more punch for a shot from an unexpected range then torpedoes could be worth it. Generally paying a lot for a relatively minor increase in firepower doesn't feel worth it, especially because I am loathe to put anything but Autothrusters in that modifications slot.

That said, my Knife Fighters list has 3 Protectorate Starfighters loaded with torpedoes, because a 9 point initiative bid seemed excessive.

Losing ATs isn't worth it, but if you have some points spare, chucking on Flechettes or Plasmas can be a useful way to add some range 3 punch, especially on a Mindlink list.

But the points are usually better spend elsewhere.
