What if movement was front-to-front, instead of front-to-back?

It's Star Wars, it behaves as if space is air, it doesn't have remotely realistic space-movement.

I'm 99% convinced the SW universe has Luminiferous Aether tbh.

The poster used the M-word. BURN the heretic!

On topic: If flying a battle with only small ships I would certainly test it.

I like it also a LOT that it eliminates some of the stupid aspects of Large movement. But it cannot be incorporated in the current rules framework. Would need to wait for an eventual 2nd edition.

That's basically my solution to Large-Boost. I don't think it needs to be done for movement as a whole, but it should be done for Large-Boost. (And there are far less fiddly ways to do it.)

I think front-to-front (or back-to-back, or a side-mounted thing) should have been built in from the start, because it would make large ships handle better, but at this stage, I think it's too late to try and force it.

It's one of the few really good arguments I've heard for a 2nd edition, tweaking movement so it can still offer a fun range of diversity without making large ships behave so strangely.

I think back-to-back would be more convenient. A marker is placed around the back nubs and the ship removed. Movement templates could be made with nubs on one end that fit into the marker. Ships is placed at the end of the movement template. Turn templates would probably need to be made larger as the current 1 hard turns would become almost a stationary 90 degree turn.
