The Rules say they must be included in your list as official FFG Components.

Stating "You can get away with it" is condoning breaking the rules - which is condoning Cheating (and perhaps condoning a course of action that would lead us to War. )

You need to include 'em.

I mean, I was joking since the beginning. Of course you need the objective cards. It is just that they could easily don't leave the bag so there is a chance of not needing them physically.

Not having 1 objective of each colour, for example, is an illegal list.

I've even had 1 or 2 people try to sneak in Corellian Conflict Greens instead of the appropriate Yellow/Red.
