BoShek Flies A Bomber

I wasn't sure what to expect from Mr. BoShek, having never flew him or against him. Combined with Intel Agent, this is Professor X power here. Read the mind and then change it!

I had double Tie/D defenders and 20pts to spare. I figure if Boshek can make it so my weak defenders dont get shot at, then he will be worth it.

Just had a really fun game vs Whisper/Upsilon/Wampa

So, beginning of game the bomber acts as a TL for Vess.

Fast forward. Whisper and Vessery are dead.

I will be 4k turning with Maarek. I dial in a 3 turn with bomber to ram into the Upsilon. The bomber intels the Upsilon that is doing a 2 bank, putting him head on with Maarek. I then ram the Upsilon. Upsilon then activates and I Boshek the Upsilon who has to either 2 straight onto debris and have no shot, or 2 hard turn and have no shot! He chooses the two hard turn. Maarek gets a round of free shooting! Strips some shields and crit that is all damage face up.

Next round my opponent thinks Im going to Boshek Wampa, so he dials in a 1 hard right. I dont go for wampa and try to bump shuttle again but barely miss. Wampa turns the wrong way cause he was preparing for Boshek, haha. Funny thing is you cant prepare for Boshek, because I intel first anyways then decide if you change it or not.

What a fun and great 19pt support ship. When large ships are in the rocks or near the board edge, this little guy can be a game changer.

Probably not the best for my Tie/D list, but controlling arcs is powerful. Imagine making Dengar change that white sloop. A round of shots on Dengar without his return fire can be huge. Need to find this guy a suitable list.

sounds fun!

I've seen that combo a handful of times and the best use I've ever seen was with Oicun, once you hit him he makes sure you never leave and just draws you out to your death. Unless your maneuverable of course ;)

Liked this for the sheer awesomeness of your name.

Someone in my local scene loves flying Oicunn Expert Handling+Boshek+Intel Agent+Anti Pursuit lasers, and although I haven't played against it personally, it looks pretty scary for arc dodgers.

Yeah once you've tapped him once it's all over :) I personally prefer ion projector which has less damage but even higher control and allows you to hold several ships at once if need be. :P

as for my name it's due to my favourite scum list of four quad jumpers with tractor array and old teroch with expertise and title. It's killed many arc dodgers, aces and really anything with high agility. Once you get beamed a couple times and have no agility even the 2 die attacks can be brutal. At range one it's even worse ;)

It's a pretty cool use of the shuttle, but I have to ask for clarity; it seems from what you've written you're checking the dial with intel agent when choosing if you want to BoShek? Could just be me missunderstanding however.

You set your dial, you pick the ship you're planning to ram and use Bo Shek on, and you intel agent that ship. (Or you intel agent a ship of theirs then use the knowlege you gainf rom that to ram someone else, etc.

With a PS2 bomber you're usually moving first, so functionally you use Intel Agent then use Bo Shek.

Bo Shek on Oicunn is great. I like Daredevil/Engine/Recruit for fun, or Predator if I'm feeling more competitive.

I think the order of operations is:

1.) Set Bomber dial to bump into a ship.

2.) Check that ship's dial with Intel Agent.

3.) Move Bomber to bump ship.

4.) Said ship activates.

5.) Decide to Boshek dial of the ship using information gained in step 2.

I guess I wasn't clear enough with my question xD

I know how Intel and Boshek work, it just seemed like he waits until his opponent is activating the ship hes bumped to intel it. Probably a missunderstanding on my part however.

Another trick is to intel enemy ship, then bump into one of your own ships and change its dial.

There is a huge reservoir of utility there that I think I would rarely ever access because it requires way too many branching decisions for my brain.

I was hesitant about using BoShek + Intelligence Agent, but I wanted to try it out so I put in on the table in a casual game. I had them on a U-Wing. I was very pleased with the results. I was able to bump into a Defender - Vessery in this case- do a 180 and chase him back towards my edge. I made sure to prevent him from ever turning around. If he picked the 4k, I'd BoShek him. If he didn't pick 4k, I might or might not, depending on what the other moves were. I was getting shots (albeit unmodified) on him and taking nothing from him in return. The remainder of our lists battled it out and I won handily. It's one game, but I think it's got serious possibilities.
