Just how big is hulking.

By Drais, in Rogue Trader Rules Questions

I have a player who has a mutant Arch Militant with the hulking trait. He wants Power Armor, would that increase his size the next step?

Wow 33 views and no answers, whats up, no thoughts? Anyone? Echo, echo, echo. Sound of something scurrying in the dark.

The RAW is quite clear on this: Power armour ... increases his size by one step (page 139)

So he would have his size increased to Enormous.

Exactly! The 'hulking' mutation gives the mutant the 'hulking-size'-treat, which means, he is hulking in size. When he's wearing power armor (if he can get one for his allready hulking size), he will be enormous thanks to the armor.

That's a good point. Given his size, any armour he gets will have to be made specifically for him.

Good luck finding someone who is willing to make armour for a mutant.

The mutation could be a result of a low gravity or a high gravity planet, so he could be considered an abhuman like an ogryn or a squat. So is enormus like the size of a Dreadnought?

Whatever source there is for the mutation, it shouldn't be that easy to find an armor of that size, but not impossible. The question is: do you really want some kind of armor like that? I mean, as GM you should think about what kind of foes you will need to pose any kind of challenge for such a one-man-tank...

I wouldn't increase his size any further, enormous is bigger than an Imperial walker, would be a bit silly.

The Armour should more difficult to acquire...so Extremely Rare instead of Very Rare

I was doing some searching and in the errata for DH it states that light power armour does not increase the size. Thanks for all the input!

yep I was thinking Terminator Armor size, not quite dreadnought. I agree however finding a suit of power armor to fit him (even light power armor) should be extremely difficult for him.

i picture imperial walkers as bigger than an astartes in power armor. maybe thats just a case where the game and novels differ....like imperial guard being the same size as terminators in 40k =P
