So I had this d6 character once upon a time...

By TheShard, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

So I had a character back in the day, day... He was the leader of a band of privateers, working for the rebellion. He was vaguely wolf-like.

I'm trying to come up with a good 2/spec build for him now. +150xp for knight level.

He's like a rough and tumble grunt, but very responsible to his crew. Like Imagine a more working class, factory worker cap'n picard, mixed with a less nutty Marv from sin city.

Possible take I'm leaning towards is something thats based around the survival skill because of the shistivanan ability to use survival for initiative, and maybe pathfinder for the starting spec...

I like the idea of a cunning and scarey coercion thing, but also sneaky heavy ranged and brawny... And frankly while I think the Shistivanan is close, I don't really need or want a 3 in Int, so I'm not sold.

Was thinking maybe a leader type career but uses int instead of presence, maybe warfare instead of leadership... But also looked at agressor, gunslinger, scout etc. Ahh... Too many choices. Too easy to make it all combat.

Basicly what are some nice 2 career specs that give a nice combat/social blend? Any favourites?

What kind of monster-y species work well for this idea?

I feel ill know it when I see it. I got a certain feeling to the character I'm looking for.

I'm just bouncing ideas out into the internet either...

I'm totally lost on what to do. Its for an aor (all careers allowed) game.

Look at the vanguard in forged in battle (you'll also get shishtevan character art), you might also find the analyst interesting for intellect based buffing.

Gunslinger/Charmer? Or Gunslinger/Gambler? Gunslinger is a solid combatant with some defensive improvements, a few strain increases, and they do nasty things to people when they act first and/or crit. Most of their talents work well regardless of how you do your damage. Charmer is sort of the quintessential social combatant, but Quartermaster could be cool, too, for the bonuses to "finding" things. Gamblers are all about playing the odds.

If you're willing to go with F&D, I think Warleader is an interesting class that could make for a cool privateer. It's also a class that doesn't feel overtly Force-sensitive.

Warleader does look nice!

I'm leaning towards agressor/trailblazer if I don't do the shistivanan

I gotta look at Vanguard again...

Enforcer + Agitator ? That would have the Coercion side of things sown up while providing decent combat. Or Enforcer + Politico if you want to be inspiring as well.

Enforcer and almost anything is a great way to go...

I'm wondering if warden mixed with something would give a good social/combat to something...
