As I recall, he didn't have a card for a long time, and was mentioned as a pirate? But that was like 2 decades ago, so I might not be remembering correctly

He was always champion of the minor clan Mantis. Then formed the alliance and the members of the alliance went from minor clans to families in the Mantis Great Clan.

Hotaru's art at least depicts her as having the beauty and elegance one would expect from a Crane Champion. And we get to see she's martially skilled and not just politically as some speculated.

On her relationship with Kachiko I'll say it seemed to me like excitement at seeing one's paramour for the first time in a long time. And Hotaru's savvy enough to realize that no matter how much she might like Kachiko on a personal level she's still a Scorpion and a threat to her Clan's interests.

As a Crab I appreciate her concern for our situation even if she can't offer any assistance. You'd expect most Crane to consider it 'our' problem.

They should totally remake It Was a Cat.
