i didn't know he was called Daigotsu Hoturi though. He was always the False Hoturi for me.

Bayushi Kachiko drugged Hoturi and held him captive while she used an artifact, the Egg of P'an Ku, to bring an evil reflection of him into existence. The False Hoturi led Tainted madmen through the Crane countryside burning and pillaging until Hoturi escaped and killed him in a duel.

...Good lord, the CCG kind of went to full-on comic book levels of convoluted, didn't it? Was some guy's crazy evil twin really so compelling that it merited resurrecting him multiple times?

There's something about a duel against oneself in this setting not ending in a Double KO that bothers me a bit, not sure why.

Eh, certain characters had a real nasty habit of overstaying themselves...
