First Strike (Tier IV)
Spend 2 points to give you AND your opponent 4 VP? Why? You could buy a Jawa with those 2 VP, or a whole manner of other, better upgrades. Maybe one day there will be a more appropriate reason to start off with some points; perhaps you're playing many ways to score points, and just want to be 4 closer? Maybe one day, but not today.

Perhaps you want to do this in order to use " order hit" with jabba at the very first turns of the match... it seems too risky but perhaps.

Generally, you can pull off Order Hit on the second round of the game with ease. On the first turn, I think it's much better to be focusing and drawing command cards in order to prepare for that climactic second round.

Maybe with a Rancor list, to get 3 attacks in on the first round. Move in with Beasttamer and Brutality. Order hit (which I suspect can't use brutality). That's three attacks late in round 1 with potential Cleave 2 on each. Spam some small critters to go late with Rancor and last with Jabba? Then first with Rancor on turn 2? Maybe too many eggs on a massive Rancor attack?

On most maps, even with Beast Tamer, I'd be surprised if the Rancor is able to get into range on the first turn of the game in order to attack three units. Even if you have Gideon to focus and move him, you're moving 10 squares and hitting the guy 12 squares from where you started. On Jabba's Palace, this is feasible. On any other map, however, you've got doors in the way, which probably won't be opened if the opponent sees what you're trying to do.

Brutality is a special action. Order Hit allows to perform an attack, not an action.

yeah, really sounds too recherche... too many points to do one possible attack

@Stompburger @naitsirk thanks for mentioning my document to @theaficionado . To be clear, my document was to apply skirmish attachments to make overcosted figures worth their price. However, I think the FFG designers showed that skirmish figure count & activation economy is very important, which is why they're applying negative cost to Vader's skirmish upgrade. My next revision of the document is going to reflect those changes and actually suggest some deployment cost reductions for certain groups.

I'm kinda hoping they're going to errata Lord of the Sith to allow multiple attacks. It won't be overpowered since Driven By Hatred doesn't give Vader a second activation, meaning you can only play Lord of the Sith on Vader's actual activation. Letting Vader have a chance to cut his way through multiple Weequay Pirates would be totally worth the 3-point card cost!

Also, I'm hoping that the 2 other Skirmish Upgrades are Boba and... existing Imperial Vehicles (AT-ST, General Weiss, SCM-2 Repulsor Tank). My current suggestions for them add a free secondary attack and some other attack options; I'll be reworking this to reduce their deployment cost down.

As for Han and Chewbacca, I'm guessing their Skirmish fixes will be coming either in the next wave of A&V Packs (like IG-88 came with the Jawa). FFG may wait until the next expansion box -- if it's the Endor box, it makes sense it would be a very Rebel-centric box.

Where is the thread for discussing these?

The thread for my skirmish suggestions is here . I'm not for sure if there is a primary thread for talking about next wave & expansions.

@theaficionado , your list is exactly what I think the community was missing, and thank you so much for typing out your thoughts -- I look forward to seeing the completed list, as I've not gotten around to picking up Jabba's Realm yet, and so am very much in the dark!

@theaficionado you really need to copy that post and make it a separate topic so anyone can find it easily and then you can post in the comments whenever you update it with version notes :)

@ArbitraryNerd Thanks! :) I actually had most of Jabba's Realm typed up, and then my computer decided to delete it all. Once I get over sulking over my hour of lost work, I'll post Jabba's Realm.

@Masterchiefspiff I will do exactly that very shortly later today! :)
