I'd favor TIE Striker and TIE Punisher. Give the Striker bombs and make it about imperial bombs. Put an imp bomb buff inside that makesthem on par with sabine (maybe something like a better phrased "You may force enemy ships you have target locked to reroll all bomb- and obstacle-related dice"?) and show both ships some love through new pilots.

TIE Strikers were supposed to be Bombers (as seen below), and Punishers need some love. What do you think?

Maelstrom is a hilarious name for that ability plus AA.

Still seems expensive though. 2 more than Duchess.

Everything else "feels" playable. Double attacks are strong in this game though. Probably worth taking a Punisher for. I guess at least you on Chimps once. How does the wording all work with TL restrictions? Like does the card work with all secondary weapons a Punisher can field?

I feel like bomber configuration should disable adaptive aelerons, but I assume the real intent is to forbid LWF.

Feels a little... Slammy, though.

I agree it is a bit slammy, but AA is limited by even a single stress, and it is more restricted in the range of movements, and it is such a defining part of the Striker's identity, I didn't want to take it away.
I was thinking: Being loaded with bombs would surely counteract the weight advantage caused by a lightweight frame, and AA is what makes this ship.

I'm thinking, you perform the same attack again, no need to spend another ordnance or target lock. With things like cluster missiles, i think it would add just 1 extra shot, not repeating the whole process.

Hmm. The bomblet generator would work well for this ship sans AA and LWF. That'd make the TIE Striker an extremely adaptable ship.

Which works given its role in the lore, right? It's basically an Imperial F-15.

Captain Kraeg is op, especially with twin ordnance launcher. We dont need more 5 dice homing missiles. And while Im at it: I hate miranda so much.

It would be strong indeed, but also quite expensive and still unmaneuverable and easy to shoot down. With these upgrades Punishers would become something to fear. I don't see that as a bad thing.

And tie/sk have two cannon. May be a "heavy striker" ?

Title

Cost : 5 pts ?

Increase your primary attack to 1, your upgrade bar gain the bomb upgrade icon.

bah, Imperial Aces II would blow this out of the stars. :P

I think with your current text Cluster Missiles wouldn't work. They already perform twice.

Yeah, this would need to specify 'one additional attack'.

Then again, as an upgrade, it's pretty obscene. A full extra attack? Holy geez, that's valuable - and with homing missiles, even before guidance chips, this card is one of the strongest double taps in the game yet.

Cutlass, GC, double-tap, homing missile, title: 29pts.

You can field three of these for 89 points, and they throw 6 homing missiles downrange on the first pass.

To be clear, PS bidding aside these things can outgun triple U-boats... And they'll never run out of ammo.

The rest of the cards look fun (though the super-miranda bugs me a little), but that one... Yeah, not so much, eh?

Infinite ammo though, that's promising. Just maybe hand out one fix at a time. ?

The Striker isn't a bomb carrier. It didn't use any bombs in the film and that is clearly what FFG used as their inspiration for the game piece - just like the TIE/SF which doesn't match the entirely subjective 'this thing can move!' line people harp on about, or the alleged crew slot for it, or the original Poe Dameron being an appropriate PS8 before fanboyism made him 9.

In any case, like the TIE Bomber, the Striker is a fairly poor chassis for bomb dropping, and copying mechanics over from the K-Wing will just incite the ire of the 'nerf bombs/Miranda' crowd.

And quite frankly the Striker is nowhere near needing a 'fix', and *certainly* not before several other ships get theirs.

I agree the TIE Striker should have a "heavy" configuration. Here is my take, from some time ago:

BTW, great images you got there. Did you edited/composed them or did you find them that way?

PS: those pilot names are invented or have some basis in the lore?

The images I just sortof collected at work in the nightshift. For the names I use the NPC-s of my RPG campaign, so yeah, I invent them.
