Kylo Phantom - needs tweaking

This list seems to be good on paper, but I'm having issues executing it. I've played two versions of it, and against stiff competition. but I feel that either the learning curve is just really high, or it's garbage.

The Echo version works a lot better, or at least I flew it better and did better with it. The re-positioning makes Echo a lot more fun to fly and unpredictable. I do think the Adv. Cloak is probably a better modification, but I want the initiative bid as I feel it makes a big difference in how it performs. I could swap in Adv. Cloak and drop Predator off Vader for Adaptability and give myself a nice 3 point bid...

So how does it work?

Kylo deals blinded pilot to the "biggest threat". Vader does what he can to land that crit. Colzet follows the blinded pilot around and keeps flipping that card faceup while Vader and the Phantom deal with the other target/targets. In theory....

In execution... the Phantom dies, then vader dies. then Colzet tries to stay alive. The best i've done was against Ketsu/Dengar. I messed up pretty bad in my opening moves and took the target of opportunity dealing damaged cockpit to Ketsu. I then bumped Dengar a couple of times with Echo not able to get my cloak on. I ended up getting Ketsu off the board, but only 1 shield off Dengar.

How would you edit this list? Or do I scrap it? I really want it to work!

Probably just fly it better. Yes, git gud. Some people are master's with whisper, other people get her killed right away. Plus the fact you have no autothrusters and turrets are everywhere just makes the list harder.

14hp list, and with no autothrusters, is all about how you fly. If you like the list, keep trying it out, be patient with your approach.

I played with a similar list for a while and settled for:

Vader: swarm leader, ATC

Whisper: VI, FCS, ACD, Kylo

2 x Academy

I played this at Hoth open and found swarm made Vader a much bigger threat, and having 2 big threats caused opponents many issues. Extra dice on Vader is also great at making sure the Kylo Crits go through.

Also academies were great at blocking etc.

The list is very solid, and games I lost were generally down to my opponent flying better rather than the list.

That said I'm sure improvements could be made

Thats an interesting way to build it Dave. I like it.

It's a very unforgiving list, and Phantom's do seem to have a pretty steep piloting curve if your not used to them.

What if you use the upsilon shuttle with Kylo crew. Your PS is much lower, but it's a more forgiving ship and you won't explode from a bad dice roll.

Starkiller base pilot (30)

FCS (2), Kylo Ren (3), Title (2)

I would recommend the predator vader for more consistent damage. Better chance of getting the crit thru. That build would leave you with 1 point for initiative bid. You could add a crew, or another one point card. That's up to you.
