Liar-bot, know it all, death machine etc. ?
I'm trying to think of a fun to play concept, not necessarily combat oriented. What are some fun stat-spec-concept fits for a droid?

Had one droid concept I thought of a while back: CZ-36, designed by Czerka Arms as an infiltration assisting droid, to help storm troopers break into Rebel bases and such. Disk-shaped hover droid, focus on Agility and Intellect, for stealth and computers. Technician/Slicer. It sliced its own brain to break free of Imperial control and now works for droid rights.
Well if I go int heavy I don't want to do a slicer focused character, I got one of those already...
Human sized mechanical spider with a sibilant hissing voice, who's also a doctor. Doesn't understand why everyone's afraid to get treated by him. He even installed a lolipop dispenser next to the multi-scalpel and extra large bore syringe!
Defective fire suppression droid who is secretly a pyromaniac. Suppresses the urge for as long as possible, until his "Obligation" is triggered.
Astromech droid who really just wants to be an artist. Maybe sculpting in scrap or wants to be a painter. Gets annoyed when he's interrupted to fix stuff or plot an Astronavigation course.
B1 battle droid who's had a couple of intellect upgrades. Has had the epiphany that he really should get out of the violence industry if he wants to have a long "life." Strangely he's managed to outlive the vast majority of his compatriots.
There is something about those DUM series pit droids that I find just so appealing. Reprogrammed as an Assassin BH and pushing a hover-crate full of tools, is there anywhere he couldn't bluff his way into? ' I was ordered to repair the ventilation system on this level, Service Code 00100101 .'
If I get the chance, I'd also love to play an old BX commando droid that was deep under cover when the deactivation order came at the end of the Clone Wars. Disguised now as a human (or other organic) Smuggler Pilot or Scoundrel, with a mask and heavy clothes. Bonus points if he was one of Cad Bane's crew involved in the Senate hostage caper.
I fully plan on creating and playing a side-programmed COO-2180 Cook Droid. Stats would be 1/4/1/4/1/1. Smuggler - Thief. Focus on Skulduggery and Indistinguishable. Possible multi-class into Infiltrator. Increase Brawn via cybernetics up to 3 and have two vibrorapiers hidden into the extra arms and disguised as cooking utensils. Use Hidden Storage to hide a Palm Stunner to maximize Skulduggery synergy. Maybe even convince your GM to allow you to add the Extra Limbs trait by spending cybernetics slots. Indistinguishable lets you get in, stun the target, and get out without anyone being the wiser.
Human Replica Droid with memory loss. Thinks he's humanoid. The first time he takes a severe enough critical injury, he looks down to see that beneath his flesh is mechanical parts...
A Nanny-Droid of some sort might make an amusing addition to most adventuring parties.

Oh, my. I had no idea this existed, but I am so so happy it does. XD
So how what career do you think best serves a cambot that has gained sentience? Probably scout?
Do any other droids have special rules for them like astromechs?

In Legends the LEP Servant droid was originally designed to function as a nanny. Children kept getting trapped in the droids' storage compartments, so their function was re-imagined. But the code is still burried in the older models' programming, presumably. And every nanny needs to be able to entertain...
LEP-NE1; Colonist: Performer (Mime); 1/3/2/2/2/3; Charm 2, Coordination 1, Deception 2, Know (Education) 1, Know (Lore) 1, Negotiation 1, Streetwise 1; Distracting Behavior
When the going gets tough, NE1 gets trapped in invisible boxes, blown by phantom winds, and pulls herself along imaginary ropes. An unlikely but effective party 'face,' NE1 uses her non-threatening presence to diffuse violent situations.

Scout would be good for a cambot, at least if you envisioned its skillset to have expanded to be more like a probe droid. If you're willing to go to another line, the Propagandist would be another way to create a unique cambot. Advocate has a lot to offer, too, if you assume the cambot is out there gathering its own evidence.
In addition to Scout, you could pair Advocate or Propagandist with one of the more knowledge- and research-focused specs, like Scientist or Scholar (or maybe Archaeologist) to create a character who gathers its own information and then uses it against the opposition (whether that be the Empire or rival criminal groups in an Edge campaign).
Edited by SavageBobWe have a clone-wars vet Buzz-droid in our party. Mechanic, Assassin, Demolitionist. High brawn, decent cunning/int. He cuts things apart and blows things up. And hides, sometimes. Very fun character.
My first funny reaction was "Sexbot, because technology is always either driven by war or by the desire to get laid" - but I started thinking about it. It would be a tough group to play this with, they'd have to be mature enough to handle the storyline, but a Sexbot who gets ideas above her station and want to break out of that life, but can't - either because of circumstance or because of built in hardware limitations. That could actually be a fun story arc.

I could see an ex-sexbot character being interesting. With an immature group you could play it as being very anti-sex/anti-objectification as a response to the history, and is now a little axe-crazy on the subject. In practice the droid is a bit like White Mage from 8-bit Theater. Very empathic, helpful, friendly, but start making innuendos and the giant hammer comes out.
Sexbot Assasin! Go with high Presence, Cunning and Brawn with the Bounty Hunter Martial Artist. The story goes that some criminal group needed a way to assassinate a particular individual who had particular desires. They modified and upgraded an appropriately proportioned chassis then provided non standard programming to ensure the target was killed. After the job was completed the Droid was supposed to escape and return to a safe house... unfortunately the particular modifications to the directives granted far more creativity that led to the Droid running away.
Another Droid character I like is a K-9 Bounty Hunter Survivalist (although Trailblazer or Tactician work well too). A black ops project by the Imperials to develop a stable platform for assisting soldiers in recon and espionage missions. The idea is there is a large Rifle mounted on the back of the Droid during missions, with a pistol and claws inbuilt. It can be upgraded to also carry a grenade launcher... Tough, fast, reliable companion.
I might steal that last one. Ever read we three?
No actually, I haven't. Worthwhile?
Here was my interpretation I made ages ago, I would probably do things differently now, but it's a fun idea. I particularly like the Swift talent for this character, I think it's so perfect at emulating the four legged chassis.
The K-9 could have escaped from an experimental testing facility, ala The Plague Dogs (Richard Adams, of Watership Down fame); an escaped cyborg mongrel experiment might be just your thing.
It's actually We3
Wtf did you just introduce me to? That's crazy, now I just need to find more.
Sure you don't want Toby ?
(from Halo Jones, in case I need to say)
