Worlds Lists! ASKING FOR HELP!

By geek19, in Star Wars: Armada

Anyone know if these were played at Worlds, and how well they did (or didn't do)?

- Phantoms

- Whisper

- Interdictors

- Konstantine

- TIE Defender swarms

- Sato

- Rapid Launch Bays

- High-bid objective builds

- 2+ Decimators

- E-Wings

- Ketsu and Lancers

- Hera

- Han Solo

I'm afraid these just can't cut it for competitive play?

I saw the following:

- TIE Defender swarms
Sort of. I faced one that was Jendon, Vader, Saber, an advanced, Maarek, and 3 Defenders. He would've ended up around 30-32 points, which should've put him in the top 16 if I'm not mistaken.

- Rapid Launch Bays
Few showed up, but the ones that did seemed to have done well. I know @Parkdaddy had a good showing with his--he finished 12th, but I think he was among the top tables most of the tourney.

- High-bid objective builds
I'm not sure how high the bid was, but an Ackbar death pickle with VCXs made the semis; I can only assume it was an objective build. I think the best builds right now are those that don't rely on P1 or P2.

- 2+ Decimators
There was a 5-Decimator build there. I only saw it on the first day, but it was in the middle tables at that point. Not sure where it ended up.

- Han Solo
Han is bad and FFG should feel bad. I didn't see him.

My buddy had the five Decimators. Fell just outside the top 16. Flew with Demo, Needa-Arquitten, TRC Arquitten, Goz, and Jerry.

Do you know what his list was? I'm more data hungry than @shmitty!

Not exactly. I tried to piece it together by memory but I missing something because the bid is wrong.

I ran an Interdictor, and unsurprisingly spent the day near the bottom tables.

Inquiring minds would still love to see that list, and if possible, the thoughts of why you took it and why it did or didn't perform as well as you hoped?

@geek19 -- I have been attempting to replicate the final two lists from worlds as part of an experimental Imperial counter for Rieekan. I have some of the upgrades used for these lists as discussed by the commentators for the worlds broadcast on Twitch TV, but it's incomplete. Here is what I have so far:

Nathan's list:

Neb B Escort -- Yavaris, Fighter Coordination Team, Flight Commander

GR75 Med -- Adar Tallon

GR75 Med

GR 75 Com

Assault MK 2 B -- Gallant Haven, Toryn Farr

Norm's List:

MC30C Torp -- Admonition, Ord Experts, Assault Prot Torp

GR75 Med -- Bright Hope, Toryn Farr

GR75 Med -- Comms Net

GR75 Med

Neb B Escort -- Yavaris, Fighter Coord Team, Flight Commander

I would be very interested if you or anyone else finds or has more info on these lists.

For the first list (which is actually norm's the names are backwards) the adar tallon transport is the flagship as well. The other med transport has bomber command, and the combat refit has comms net. There are also two vcx in the build (not just one as the graphic could lead some to believe). Should total 399. Not sure on his objectives since he was first player in the final, but they did mention that two of the three were token based to work with the vcxs. I would guess Most Wanted, Ion cannon (really not sure on this one), and sensor net, but hard to say.

Nathan's list has rieekan on the comms net flotilla, and the third one (listed above with no upgrades) has adar tallon, boosted comms, and bomber command. Should total 398, nathan chooses to be second player in the final. He obviously has Superior Positions. EDIT: Originally missed the part where the commentators said this. Nathan's other two were precision strike (pretty interesting in a rieekan build, could backfire getting a zombie ship farmed, but when everyone else is playing rieekan also.....) and fighter ambush

Norm's yellow was Fire Lanes. Trust me on that one, it's burned into my mind "WHY did I take first player and WHY did I pick fire lanes" until my dying day. Or at least until Gencon.

He also had Most Wanted and Intel Sweep

I hope someone gives sato some love he is my fav commander atm. His playstyle to me screams Awings and z95s my fav fighters :)

I played a Sato list, I linked the player earlier, its Ollie124 on the forum. I hope he posts his list.

I mean, people that weren't there I think feel like there was only Rieekan present at the tournament, but I didn't play against the same Admiral twice the entire time.

I played games against Jerjerrod, Rieekan, Sato, Mothma, and Ackbar, and was playing a Motti list.

Norm's list had a comms net on the combat refit, BCC on one medium and Rieekan on the other. I believe Adar Tallon was on the Rieekan boat. AFMKII was GH w/ Toryn Farr, Nebulon was Yavaris FCT, maybe FC as well, can't remember. There may be some other miscellaneous upgrades as well. His objectives were Fire Lanes - Intel Sweep - Probably Most Wanted?

For what I wanted, which was a list simple to play, it performed well enough. My first game not withstanding, as I was up against one of the guys I drove up with, that I bounced the idea of the list off of, and who is a far better player than I (did I mention he's a former World Champion?), I think the list held it's own fairly well. It got out activated in every game, which I accepted as the consequence of being someone that wanted to run 3 triangles. And while I pretty much ended a majority of games with the Interdictor and a Star Destroyer alive, my opponents generally had lost less than 159 points. The Interdictor itself did exactly what it was supposed to do, which is a positive, I just don't know that what it does is enough.

Points: 396/400

Commander: Moff Jerjerrod

Assault Objective: Targeting Beacons
Defense Objective: Fleet Ambush
Navigation Objective: Superior Positions

[ flagship ] Interdictor-class Suppression Refit (90 points)
- Moff Jerjerrod ( 23 points)
- Interdictor ( 3 points)
- Projection Experts ( 6 points)
- Targeting Scrambler ( 5 points)
= 127 total ship cost

Imperial I-Class Star Destroyer (110 points)
= 110 total ship cost

Imperial I-Class Star Destroyer (110 points)
= 110 total ship cost

4 TIE Fighter Squadrons ( 32 points)
1 Ciena Ree ( 17 points)

Jon? By chance did we play you in the team tourney? If so hey!! Haha

Yeah Jon, we didn't partner in teams though, he teamed up with another of the guys we drove with, and I teamed with another KC guy.

Ah bummer! Ok, we played Jon and his partner first round of the team's, got it excited it might have been you. Thanks for sharing the fleet.

No one else from words had their list to add? Figured now that we have all had a break maybe someone new may be wandering around?

My idea happened like 2-3 days before DCaps existed. Now that VSD-IIs can one shot flotillas easily and there's no reason to look at old data for our new meta, I don't think anyone is responding, sadly. I also emailed @ffgjosh, asking him to forward it to the right person, but I'm not sure if he did or if it got lost in the spam. I'm also not sure who the right guy to contact at FFG is to get ANY data. IF ONLY THE FFG GUYS WHO READ THE FORUMS EVERY DAY COULD HELP ME AND PROVIDE ME WHAT LITTLE DATA THEY'RE WILLING TO, IF ANY, I JUST WANT TO KNOW THINGS!

I mean, uh, who knows if I'll get a response.

Edited to make sure everyone knows I'm joking about flotillas being useless

See, I know that you're exaggerating for comedic effect but I guarantee you it's going to go right over someone's head and then there's going to be a ragepost about it in response so I figure maybe I should just make it clear what exactly is going on here and we can avoid that whole everything, okay?

Crud, I meant to link to my joke post about it. Hang on, lemme go find it and link to it to over-do the joke....
