I am of one that believes otherwise.

Since the only trigger on Rieekan is "When", and there's no optional status in the "When" trigger, which there is in the "While" trigger.

You mean people claim that you have the option to not use Rieekan's ability? The wording on his card seems more a statement/command then anything else. Odd. How does that work in tournaments? Does it depend on the TO (is that the right name/title?) to rule one way or another?

TO is the vernacular term.

Officially, its Organizer / Marshal / Judge, depending on position

- And they only have to make a "ruling" if there is a dispute. If two palyers play each other and agree, No Judge Involvement required.

The reason for this is a bad (stupid) wording in the RRG.

If the card does not has the word "must" (or similar) it is optional.
This is the first time that i read it in this way in rules. Normally it the other way around. " All effects are mandatory unless otherwise specified ". But because it it not, this is causing this confusion about some of the cards, and how they are ruled (best example: Errata for Jamming Field). It would have made so much easier, because a lot of cards with optional effects (clearly optional) have already the wording " may ".

So if Rieekan does not has the wording must or similar, it is optional (sound stupid on a card like Rieekan....).
But if this rule count for Rieekan, could it as well count for a card like Motti? And how will it be ruled if someone say, i am not using the effect from Motti anymore .

Maybe it would better to continue in the rules forum, in the thread about exactly this combination .

Don't worry about it so much. Lots of European players are going to be busy at European Championships. I'd rather GK just give two full weeks from the next start date than force him to schedule early.

Except for those of us that lose the ability to play for two weeks after the weekend. It's possible I'll have to miss two rounds. Unless I get paired with @Tokra and convince him to come to Berlin while I'm there.

Match 20: Matt vs Silent Steve was not scheduled and played. Both players awarded 0 pts (they were matched, so cannot be matched again).

Note that I had to add 2 Dummy players to get the results correct, as Cryodex doesn't support unplayed games.
