Do you have to claim all the clues on a location to continue to the next one (or can you just travel as often as possible in order to get to the Engine Car).

The text on the unrevealed side of each location says you have to get all the clues from the previous location to move there.

I must have suffered a momentary brain-fart and not noticed them. At least I grabbed all the clues when I played the quest.
