I thought that the Grand Inquisitor didn't work with Konstantine or G8s because the cards change the ship's speed, not the ship itself? At least, that's what I inferred from @Ardaedhel post in the Quasar thread, and nobody has contradicted him yet.

It is a little uncertain, I grant that. The card can be interpreted to mean "when the an enemy ship itself changes its speed" or "when an enemy ship's speed changes." I expect an FAQ about it in... Idunno 6 months? Haha.

I've been running experiments (ones I expect will be more successful with the Quasar around), and Jendon gives me Relay, and a spare Decimator/Kee at a points reduction. When left to their own devices and Rhymer, they can annihilate CR90s, and badly wound MC30s. I just haven't found a anti-squad escort that can protect them. Thoughts?
With Morna Kee, I absolutely have. The built-in reroll is quite sweet and with Jendon you can build around when to use that reroll for maximum benefit (best case scenario is brace an enemy attack, spend the exhausted brace to reroll the Jendon attack, then activate for real, regenerate the brace, and spend it to reroll her "real" attack). With regular Decimators... eh. I'd rather use Firesprays if I'm going for more dedicated bombers.

A pair of Decimators (44 points!) attacking a scatter ace is going to get braced and scattered, usually, which will result in usually 1 total damage to the scatter ace. You need to pile in even more attacks after those to finally get more damage or some hard defense token decisions to stick and that's a very large investment towards overcoming the defenses of one ace that's cheaper than a single Decimator. Hence why I much prefer to have some dedicated anti-squadron squadrons around to take care of that.
You're assuming the Decimator aren't being used to back up the fighters in a medium squadron complement.

The specific example given was getting scatter aces to spend their scatters, which is more about using them as anti-squadron. I think they're fine in a MFC group (and recommend doing so) but man they are really not good at all against scatter aces specifically. Provided your other squadrons can handle that, then you're doing fine.

Fortunately the majority of Rebel Squads don't have scatter.

That is true, but 1) you won't always be facing Rebels and 2) some of the more frequently-taken Rebel aces are Tycho and Shara and oh man are they ever annoying with their scatters.
Again, Decimators are fine. Just try not to use them against scatter aces that still have their scatters. They're awful at that. Your more dedicated anti-squadron squadrons do much better.
