Star Wars Crucible Ship

By waw12, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I'm gearing up a major FFG campaign. (With two groups actually, one on line, and one in person). The stories will be parallel, work in tangent, etc.

For one of the groups, we want to use the Crucible ship from SW the Clone Wars (gathering, used by Huyang). I haven't come across any previously made stats or layouts/deck plans of he ship. Has anyone used one of these or something similar?

You can see the ship on Wookiepedia: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Crucible/Legends

Thanks for any help.

Something like the Consular -class light cruiser from AoR might work... or the CSS-1 shuttle from Suns of Fortune, or maybe the Curich -class shuttle from Desperate Allies . The ship was based loosely on the Defender -class Light Corvette from the SW:TOR MMORPG, but no official stats exist for that, either. There are some fan-made versions floating around which are pretty decent. Hopefully, that will give you a place to start. Good luck!

Thanks Snuffy!

The raider II stats are a bit too awesome for the crucible

Defang it a bit and I would think it is okay after that.

And drop the speed to 2, or 3 if you're really being generous. It's a thousands of years old ship. Star wars tech doesn't advance quickly but a thousand years is a lot of time for a snail's pace to accumulate.

I was under the impression SW tech was pretty stagnant and hadn't substantially changed in a thousand (or more) years. The exception being something like the Interdictor and it's ability to grab a ship out of hyperspace.

The xwing is a considerable step up from the y-wing.

and there are very few "modern" sil 5 ships with speed 4. I'm not expecting there to be any thousands of years old ships.

and in case your thinking "war breeds innovation of military tech" look at the difference between a YT-1300 and a YT-2400 there's O(200) years or less difference between them.

I wish readily available specs for the Sith fighters from KOTOR were available to compare to Tie fighters. Comparing an X to a Y wing isn't completely reasonable since one is a fighter the other a bomber. Comparing the Headhunter, ARC 170, or Torrent to an X-Wing would be a better comparison. For that matter going older would be far better, Ebon Hawk vs YT-1300 vs YT-2400 as another example.

How are you dealing with the Crucible's crash?

The Crucible went boom during the Clone Wars.

The Crucible 's final fate is yet unknown. Even if it was salvaged from the surface of Florrum during the Clone Wars, there is no guarantee that it survived the remainder of the Clone Wars, or that the PC could ever find it. Of course, if GMs wish to have this happen in their own game, their group can find the long-lost Crucible and have a campaign set about restoring it and turning it into a base of operations. (pg 65 Disciples of Harmony)

Even if it did crash, this is a tabletop game and we can go crazy with it!

hell just have a big hunt and have it end with an inquisitor fight in a fake "Crucible"if you think it should stay gone.

Bah find its wreck then have many many many sessions salvaging the Crucible and rebuilding it.

I am going to use the crucible stats and characteristics for FaD intro adventure instead the ruined Hammerhead frigate. I am going to call her Concord
