As per the title, i'm writing a story, not really for publishing purposes but just because I enjoy writing and I enjoy the SW universe.
Its being told from the Imperial's perspective, the main hero has just been given their first command, an Imperial Raider with two Gozanti providing fighter support.
What I need help with is this:
Is there a Imperial class ship, like a Star Destroyer, that solely coordinates, launches and repairs fighters?
I'm going to have a space battle but I want the heroes fleet to be re-purposed and given a specific objective. I want to have the Raider pull up to something for repairs and then have this "ship" swap out the TIE fighters on the Gozanti's with bombers. it needs to be Imperial efficiency at it's finest because i'm also going to be having comparison scenes of a Rebel base preparing to attack.
Is there anything like that in SW lore?

- As stated, the Quasar Fire is likely the best bet.
- Used to be an escort carrier as well converted from a bulk freighter/cruiser - ugly boxy thing.
Mobile repair yard... well, none was mentioned... anywhere that I know of. You could pull up to a station, drydock, shipyard, or a larger ship such as a Star Destroyer depending on the level of repairs you require.
