Palpatine dice

Palpatine's ability regarding two damage when resolving his dice: if you take a two dice variant of Palpatine would you resolve two damage for each of the dice or just two for the set?

Edited by AJSGF798

My understanding is each dice is resolved separately, therefore 2 damage per dice. For example, you roll both 3 ranged damage sides, you resolve them both because you're allowed to, but the actual sequence is I resolve one ranged dice, 3 damage, + the 2 palpatines ability gives. Then resolve next dice, 3 damage, +2 for his ability again.

That is correct, it's an extra 2 damage per dice resolution. That's why it's important to remove his dice whenever possible

.

If I use Guardian to resolve one of palpatines dice, does he still get to do the extra 2 damage. Or does the controlling player have to resolving palpatines dice for it to work.

Despite what it says on the reminder text, Guardian removes a die rather than resolving it. No extra damage for Palpatine.

He didn't resolve it you did, so he wouldn't get the extra 2 damage for it

This isn't true, on a couple levels.

Primarily, though, it's because the "reminder" text for Guardian is actually a known type. It Removes dice, it doesn't Resolve anything.

If an ability you played resolved an opponent Palp's die, it WOULD trigger the damage.

Palpatine specifically States, after you resolve this die. You being the owner of the card, so I believe my statement to be true and no further damage would take place.

This is why it is a VERY good thing Fast Hands is Yellow and not Grey or Blue :)

As a further query on Palp Dice...

The scenario is Palp vs Poe Maz.

Poe is on 8 damage and Maz is full health.

Palp rolls 3 damage and a blank.

Poe rolls his dice.

Palp then resolves 3 damage against Poe...leaving Poe on 1 health.

Can the Poe player allocate the 2 extra damage onto Poe or must he split it 1 : 1 between Poe and Maz?

The wording on the Palp card is a bit ambigious, as the defender can assign the damage as they wish.

It also says 2 damage as opposed to two 1 damages.

Your thoughts.

No, he can't.

There is a new paragraph about excess damage in the updated rules.
