Nice. I saw a guy that had cut some sheet metal to the right size, affixed it to the top of a Runewars tray (maybe with a magnet) and then used his magnetized models from another game with the modded Runewars tray. When he wanted to use his Runewars minis he'd just pop off the sheet metal.

Interesting mine are just thick cardboard cut, labor intensive haha

That has the upside of leaving you with legal trays if you ever decide to play in a tournament.

That's my plan exactly. Though to be fair, I intend to make my scratch built trays as faithful to the originals as possible, nubs included.

I don't think anyone would mind if I used a tray that's accurate to within a millimeter, but there's always that one guy... Better to have a full set of backup trays, JIC.
