leia & hidden info

By Baltanok, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

This came up last night, and I'm pretty sure I made the right call, but thought I should ask:

When an admiral activates a ship with Leia on it, the use of her ability is public information, right?

example: Leia is riding a GR75, with a friendly MC80 within range. The GR75 is activated, showing a squadron command. If the rebel admiral chooses to use Leia's ability, he must announce it ("using Leia to set MC80's dial to squadron")

If the opponent forgets what Leia set the dial to, is that information hidden or derived? I'm thinking it's definitely open or derived in the turn that Leia used her ability, but may be hidden information in the following turn.

Example 2:

Turn 1: MC80 activates, banks a Nav token. GR75 activates with a squadron command & Leia sets the MC80's topmost dial (now the turn 2 dial) to squadron.

Turn 1, squadron phase: Imperial player asks "what did leia set the MC80's dial to?" Since the GR75's dial is still face up, what Leia set the dial to is still open information. The Rebel player must answer, and must answer truthfully.

turn 2, command dial phase: The imperial player, having been hit on the head by wookies repeatedly, is really forgetful, and asks again "what did Leia set the MC80's dial to?" Since the GR75 command dial is no longer face up, the information counts as hidden (in the same way that a now-face-down damage card's face up effect is hidden) and the Rebel player may choose to share it, but is not required to be truthful.

I wouldn't even say turn , I'd say action .

Its open information during the setting of the dial due to leia.

At which point, the Dial is turned face down and becomes hidden information.

Up to you to remember.

Its exactly the same with Director Isard. While you are using Director Isard to view the Dials , it is open information.

The moment the effect ends and those dials are placed back on the tabletop... Hidden information. Its not open for the remainder of the turn, unless the effect states so.

Howwever don't forget that leia's dial remain face up next to its ship so, your opponent doesn't need to ask during that turn. Just need to look what is on the table. :D
