How does the card Destiny work?

By DJRAZZ, in Star Wars: Destiny

What does the value mean. The value of all the sides of the dice being removed or what is showing on the dice at the time. So what would it take to remove dice to get a Lightsaber in for example?

"Remove any number of your Blue dice. Play a card from your hand for free that costs equal to or less than the combined value of the Blue dice you just removed."
The uppermost side (the rolled result) of the Blue die, or dice, you chose to remove is used.
So if you have a Blue die showing melee +1, and another Blue die showing disrupt 2, you could remove them both to play a card with a cost up to the value of 3, for free.
At least that's my reading of it. :0)

If I roll a +2 melee damage on Rey and a 1 resource on my Padawan, I can remove both with Destiny to play a Lightsaber. The fact that some are modified and they show different symbols doesn't matter, as far as I know.

Haha! @SpaceMatt , you literally replied that right as I was about to hit the "submit reply" button!

@Kieransi Oh hey, I'm more than happy to see a second opinion. :0)

Yes I saw an explanation and example on Youtube.

OK second question. If I play Binds all things and play Rey's Staff for one does it remain a one cost or does it go back to a two cost in play. Example use Binds, play Rey's Staff for one and then overwrite with Vibroknife. Is the overwrite free?

Yep. You check the value of the new card against the displayed value of the old, even if you cheated the old card in for cheap. It'd be way too much paperwork if it weren't.

Thay being said, 'It Binds All Things' doesn't work on 'Rey's Staff', as 'It Binds...' only affects Blue upgrades.

Amen. What I thought. Thanks so much gang. I love this site, even though I am catching guff in the Power Creep forum.

Oh, don't worry, this is FFG, power creep is coming even if we don't have it just yet.
