It's someone's BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
Mine is the 25th.
I saw the title of the post. I saw the name of the OP. I assumed that I had missed a spoiler article for the Uthuk.
I'm glad you finally got a core set.
Happy Birthday!

No, the 14th, but I got this gift early. It was sort of a birthday/graduation gift from my parents since they were visiting town for my Ph.D. hooding ceremony.
EDIT: Oh, and happy birthday to you!

Do you know who doesn't have a core set? This guy. I'm happy for you, Bro, but I guess twins don't have
everything
in common.

That is a bad deal. You should buy one of his armies!

Well, I shouldn't count my losses yet - my wife has a strict "do not open presents before your birthday policy", so who knows what tomorrow will bring. Still kicking myself for impulse buying 3 TIE strikers and a U-Wing not too long ago...

Best of luck, tomorrow!

I like the U wing, cool ship the tie strikers I dunno

I found the Strikers to be a ton of fun to play with. They aren't super competitive (especially if you use all three at once) but Adaptive Ailerons lets them do a ton of crazy stuff.
I still haven't put my U-Wing on the table
As expected, I got some money for my birthday; enough that I can now go to my FLGS and pick up a core set!
Unexpectedly, my brother-in-law heard that I didn't have the game yet, and sent me a copy!
You see, he has a bunch of HirstArts molds, and I asked him if I could borrow them so I can make some terrain for Runewars, but we ran out of time to look through his inventory when I was up in his area recently. Hopefully we can cast some bricks soon to make some fortresses/towers. But he knew I was eyeing this game, and being the generous guy that he is, he bought me Runewars Miniatures Game.
So here's my conundrum: I told the local store owner I was saving up for a core, and then would like to run demos. Do I go ahead and get a second core, or should I start picking up expansions since they'll start hitting store shelves this week? I feel bad that I said I'd buy it, but now I don't need to. It would be great to have some funds to participate in the escalation league, if I can get enough other locals on board.
Oh Snap! You guys actually are twins.

I'd probably get the second core.
1. It let's you demo two 3x3 starter games at the same time.
2. It's a hell of a lot cheaper way to get near 200 points than buying just expansions. You almost (but not quite) end up getting the models from the second faction for free.
3. It gets you close to being able to demo a 6x3 200 point game. Puck up each of the command packs and proxy a few cards from the expansions and you are there.
You could also buy a grassy playmat, but I suppose you were leaning toward doing your own table, huh?
@parakitor grays on getting the core, as to buying the core or expansions. I guess that depends on the end goal. Do you want to play 200 point games? This escalation thing? That is a league we're you add expansions? I have no idea what that is about.
i plan to buy a second core soon myself, unit upgrade packs and probably heros. So I can field 200 point armies. The core being most units per dollar is the main reason for that, I'll be missing out on some good upgrades though.
