Luminara/Rey deck - thoughts?

By Kyle Ren, in Star Wars: Destiny

I've tried this a few times, and with really good results. I still only own one It Binds All Things, or else I'd have two in there. What do you think?

Characters:

2x Luminara Unduli

2x Rey

Battlefield:

Moisture Farm

Upgrades:

2x Force Speed

Journals of Ben Kenobi

Makashi Training

2x Vibroknife

2x Jedi Robes

2x Force Training

2x Force Heal

2x Force Throw

2x Lightsaber

2x Force Protection

2x Handcrafted Light Bow

One With the Force

2x Mind Probe

Supports:

It Binds All Things

Events:

2x Guard

I am not a fan of Luminara's ability, but if you just wanted to use her dice, Rey is a good choice to partner up with. Also, you have enough upgrades in there for 4 characters. I get that you can override Ray a couple of times each turn, but I think more dice control would be better.

I like the team for fun-straight-up melee beatdown. Too many upgrades.

I don't get it...

Why so many upgrades and so few events?

Sure Rey gives you some actions back but....if you don't hit destiny in the first couple of rounds you will have plenty of unusable cards in in your hands and no way to deal with your opponent.

I'm honestly not sure why - I just know it placed second in the last tournament I took it to. I think it's because it usually ends the game by the end of round 2, and Luminara's ability allows me to generate plenty of resources. I definitely want them both to be rolling 5 dice on round 2. So, yeah, I don't know why it works but it does.

It is weird how sometimes decks that look good on paper get destroyed and decks that looks terrible do well. My gut tells that this deck is not going to win consistently.

Yep, I bet you're right and my victories were just a fluke. Is there a better way to play Luminara/Rey? More dice control like Force Misderection and Mind Trick? Holdout Blasters?

Seems fun to me.

Probably more balance with events-weapons-abilities. At some point you will need mitigation. Plus Rey dies fast against good decks. LU's special is interesting for sure.
