Is it possible to get a written transcript for those of us not in a position to listen to it please?

Also, it better not be anything other than a full throated apology.

Its basically one line about how he was nervous, how completely fair his light punishment was and him tooting his own horn about his commitment and dedication to fair play

Ah. So if we're nervous, we're allowed to flagrantly cheat are we? Good to know prior to my next regionals! Thanks for the advice Parker.

Well he seemed contrite but I would not call his apology 'full throated'. I don't know why he would say all that stuff about his 'commitment to fair play'. Seems like he is just inviting more back lash.

Either way, I agree with Gold Squadron. FFG needs to create floor rules for standardizing punishments. Also, fly casual.

Parker:
"First of all I told the judges all that I know about the incident and my own charachter. It was not my intention to cheat using my dial, but i absolutely broke the rules of the game by picking it up during the turn and altering it nervously, forever changing the games state.
It was a mistake and I deserve to be diciplined for my infraction and I still accept their judgment as fair and necesary.
The event is a blemish on my otherwise exemplary record of honesty and commitment to fair play and I immediately appoligised to my opponent for my misconduct and we where able to shake hands over a moment we would both wish had never happend.
I also want to apologise to your podcast and viewership. I know taht you did not want your cast of the tournament to be dominated even briefly by something so unrelated to the competetion at hand. You did not deserve to have your time taken by my mistake.
I also want to thank you sincerely for your insistant that I not be witchhunted and your viewership to trust in the judges ruling. In that moment I learned something about your dedication to a positive community and it is out of this respect to your podcast that I make this statement. Thank you very much for your time and concideration."

Well I still think it was purposeful and the nervousness is an excuse, but I can appreciate that he made a statement and apology. He could of easily hid or said nothing.

Well I agree on end the witch hunt... but hardly an apology... how could it not be his intention to cheat... when he cheated?

I'm over it, I'll gladly play him should our paths cross... I suggest we all just do like the Atanni and avoid passing around more stress and instead focus on putting this behind us and playing the game we enjoy

Apology heard and accepted. As long as it doesn't happen again, I'm satisfied.

Moving on.

Well played.

This is basically saying "hey I got caught cheating and as far as you know I've never done it before according to myself telling you this, and I got off easy" there wasn't any remorse it seems.. As for immediately apologizing to his opponent, he only did so after people on twitch clipped the incident and kept spamming it in the chat so the casters could see it and brought it to FFGs attention.

Well said.

The thing that astonishes me most about this whole incident is that there have been no "this is from him" memes or jokes on these forums. Unless I just missed them all.

Check out x wing dank memes on facebook, there are some good memes about this situation there.

When I get nervous, I pee.

Just a warning for if I enter a tournament.

But it's ok because I'm nervous, right?

He should have dropped out of worlds, not continue on. That would have been the best apology he could have done for the xwing community.

Purposeful and nervousness can go hand in hand, those are the moments when the temptation to cheat is the biggest. And has FFG rules, he would be an retard to actually confess any intention, because FFG already banned those who confess instead of just handing out a warning.

I am still irritated by the inefficient punishment. FFG judges should get more practise time, better training and proper floor rules.

Indeed, that would have been in my view a real apology for a moment of weakness. Instead he took the advantage he gained. So much for his commitment to fair play.

I think this guy genuinely is sorry now.

Possibly not for the cheating itself (most people I know with an 'exemplary record of honesty' don't feel the need to state it and his entire tone seems well rehearsed and somewhat insincere) but most definitely for being caught and the backlash he's currently getting.

Even if he was 100% intent on cheating, I'm pretty sure he didn't expect to be RL harassed for it.

Personally I think RL harassment over a game is going way overboard as well as barking up the wrong tree. Yes, the guy cheated and it's his fault, but it's not his fault he wasn't appropriately punished. That's 100% on FFG.

As the Gold Squadron guys and many others said, the only productive way to go about this is to push FFG for floor rules.

Apology accepted, Captain Needa

I would like to know what exactly your intention was when you picked up your dial and changed it, if it wasn't cheating.

A statement to the community like this is not enough, if you are truly remorseful about your actions. What are you going to do to make things right with the player you were caught cheating against? He potentially spent hundreds of dollars, maybe even had to take time off from work, and had to do all those little annoying things you need to do for a weekend trip (and spent time building/practicing a list), and you ruined his weekend. Maybe you could help pay for his trip to worlds next year. You know that you did something that you shouldn't have, and now it is up to you to do everything you can to make this right. Your reputation is ruined currently, and you need to 100% own up to what you did, and do everything you can to change what you'll be know for from "cheater" to something else. Volunteer to TO some free tourneys, make some cool swag to give out, do some events for charity, etc. Be the guy that does something awesome for the community instead of what you are right now.

The doxxing against Parker was way out of line, and those who contacted his family/work should admit it and make restitution for it but we all know that won't happen. It may have felt good to "tell on him", but that does nothing but make the problem worse, and probably contributed to Parker's half-hearted statement here since he thinks he got extra punishment now. Do you think that the doxxing made him feel more remorseful about what he did or just made him angry? (hint, it's most likely the latter.) You doxxers have only made this worse, so stop it.

I also 100% agree with Dion that FFG needs to give us some floor rules. We need to use this incident to make the play experience at big events better for all of us. Let's turn this into a positive. (Also huge props to Dion and the Gold Squadron people for dealing with all of this in such a mature and positive way, keep being awesome.)

Well that couldn't really have been done any more badly... I was on 'he's served his punishment' but now I'm on '**** that guy'.

Disconnected from the reality of what every single person watching the clip saw happen.

I don't buy his alternate facts.

Please be careful to not get burned when trying to to incite masses. What if the masses decided that you went overboard and decide to target you instead? Just a helpful reminder. 得饶人处,且饶人。

Yeah. That wasn't an apology for cheating, it was an apology for getting caught and a bunch of excuses.
