I haven't seen any of Alden Ehrenreich's movies, so I'm not sure what to think about him. I've been behind all the casting for Star Wars up to this point, so I don't think Disney just grabbed someone to play the part. But he's got some awfully big boats to fill.

anyway, I brought this up to see if I can catch the excitement off someone who is hyped for the Solo solo movie.

So early? That makes me nervous. The movie tie in products miss so much in the way of ship capabilities and named pilots/crew, I kind of wish they'd wait until after the movie to release them.

I don't feel that the real excitement will rear it's head until we see some images, either stills or a clip from the movie of some kind.

Personally, I'm looking forward to it but I'm not going bananas with excitement just yet since A) it's a year away & B) The Last Jedi is where I'm focused, Star Wars movie-wise.

I am neither convinced that this movie is a good idea. Prequels of any kind where major heroes are involved are mostly bad, be it films or books. The author(s) is/are just too much bound by being forced to be continuous to the later coming already known stuff, and the public is not spellbound as much, as it knows that the main character(s) cannot die. That was good with Rogue 1, mostly unknown characters.

Many will probably disappointed as they imagined Han's past different. Remember the bad prequel Yoda, demystifying and diminishing the character for a lot of people?

And the Solo movie opens for some bad cameos, and too much plain fan service stuffed in. The Boba Fett movie will be probably even worse in this regard. Both might ruin the Star Wars continued success and brand (again) if they are made too cheesie or with too blatant with only dollar signs in mind.

I'm not versed in the lore enough to be too disappointed, but I would think the Mando stories are hard to mess up.

The best elements of Episodes I-III came from Jango and little Boba. Hoping the armor makes up for any lack of substance lol

I think they'll go small with Solo's backstory.
Rather then anything Sweeping about the character's life well just get the exact events where Han gets in trouble with Jabba and the movie ends in him getting a voice-only call from Obi-Wan to meet at the bar.

There's definitely going to be a 'shot first' gag.

But obviously someone changed the dial at the last second while we're busy looking at something else.

I have been checking the upcoming page since the first announcement and they have never been listed as in development or otherwise.
