Order of Operations - With all Upgrade Cards

By Democratus, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

I'm working on a document for my local Armada group that shows the order of everything in a turn, along with which upgrade cards can be used at each step.

For one thing - the formatting is just horrible but I'm unsure how to make it better.

Would love some advice, commentary, criticism to help me develop this further.

I like this, I was goign to create something like this for any list I was going to use regularly (ie with just the upgrades that list has), but now I'm just going to steal yours... have been setting up an excel army list (so I can make army lists at work without them seeing how much time I'm spending on warlords! :-) might intergrate your document so you get an order of operations for whatever list is on the army list...

This gets a lot easier once you've memorized the point costs for everything. Then you can just pull up a spreadsheet with @sum() at the bottom and use abbreviations for everything... :)

Spreadsheet! Just do the sums in my head whilst walking to work, driving in the car etc...

Thanks. Fixed!

This is something FFG added toba xwing faq about 6 months ago and should be added to Armada.

Would make learning abd findinh order sequences 100,34,433,5.6315 times easier on players.

My only question is - Does it help them learn the sequence, or just repeat it by rote, though?

I mean, it is important to learn how to do it - but you can't rely on a lookup all the time.

It's something I reference after I've built my fleet so I know when each of my abilities fits in the sequence.

Can also be used mid-game to settle a question.

But we don't use it like a flow-chart while we play. :)

I think rather than help or hinder people learning the order in their head I think this would stop a lot of mistakes that are easy to introduce into play if you don't pick up on the subtleties of the order.

I now noticed your original request for better formatting, I've exported it in to word and have been thinking similar things, mostly I've been trying to get the space down, there is a lot of white space so there must be a way of shuffling things together better... I'm thinking of moving it to excel where I can control the formatting more easily (probably because I'm more familiar with it that it's actually better), I think a flow chart with coloured boxes for the skills interruptions.

Am I crazy to want more squad stuff too?

Just wanted to bump this for @Dameon13 he was looking for a good order of operations.

Great work!!!

but now I have a question... with Solo and rbd. Han Solo shoots first? Depends of who os the first player?

Han always shoots first baby!!!!

Now seriously, you're right, it depends on who is first player. For refference, RRG page 5:

• If two or more of a player’s effects have the same timing, that player can resolve those effects in any order.
• If both players have effects with the same timing, the first player resolves all of his effects with that timing first.

Added the new Wave 6 cards. Just for grins.
