Greenfire Games Dual Interdictors vs ISD and Defenders

By Fraggle_Rock, in Star Wars: Armada Battle Reports

A Dual Interdictor list supported by 6 VT-49s comes out ahead of an ISD with 4 Defenders.

I never realized how lethal the Decimators are...

When you move obstacles with your Grav Shift Reroute, the entire obstacle must be inside of distance 2 from it's original location.

It looks like you are moving the obstacles so that just a small part of them remain within 2.

The key word on the card is " within " distance 2.

Love the double Interdictors on the table. You're doing the Emperor's work! :D

@Democratus , thank you for pointing this out. I'll relay the message and not get caught out on that next time. That would have made my ISD a little more useful.

I just read the card myself this afternoon (didn't last night) and realized the same thing. I'm used to flying a single Interdictor with G-8 Experimental and G7-X Grav Well upgrades. I tend to not use the Grav Shift Reroute, so I didn't think to check his card text.

I love the Decimators, hands down my favourite squadron to carry around and almost like a ship in its own right. I'll be checking out the battle report and will return with comments!

Please do, I'm always looking to improve my game and I'll gladly pass along comments to other players. I was rather unprepared for these squadrons (VT-49 Deci's), but had a good time playing regardless. Defenders are nice all around fighters, but they only delayed the inevitable loss.

I may have to try out a rebel fleet just to throw off my local meta. I don't think I've ever flown Rebels outside of teaching the game to others.

Sometime soon I'm going to make it back out there. Wednesdays have just been crazy busy. Keep filming and I'll keep watching though!

@geek19 , we'd love to have you. We usually have someone itching to play Armada in the store on Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you will be in the area, and want a game let us know and we'll get an opponent for you.

Will do. Wednesdays and Thursdays are usually my busiest night, but I'll let you guys know when I can get there!

I went back and looked. I think i moved the first 2 fine. I moved the back edge 2 forward on those. The last 2 I totally did not move them the right way. Thanks for pointing that out. Was the first time I tried using it.

Great game gentlemen, I was very intrigued with the Dual Interdictors to see how they would end up. Are there any changes you guys would make to your fleets out of interest?

Thanks, @jimmyrut . On my side, I've made a few minor modifications as that was my first time against Decimators. I've added a Wing Commander to the ISD to help with timing for the RLB and swapped out a Defender Squadron for Zertik Strom. My hope is that I can use his Escort to give the Defenders a little more time to survive. I'm also tempted to drop the Gozantis for either more squadrons or different upgrades, but I want to see what will happen with this fleet later on.

Yes I would make some changes. I would switch for high cap ion turbines. I feel that the extra blue on the sides would help more then converting the acc. To make up the points I took off the Quad laser turrets. I also would put commandant aresko on the none flagship. This would let them both due 9 eng points a turn late game. With the squadrons I would drop one decimator for a jm5k and and advance. This would let my ships not be pinned down. the advanced is there just to protect the jm5k. Im not worried about the drop off in damage output I think not being pinned would allow my squads to do more to the ships. The other player would have to pick go after the decimators or go through an adv and jm5k.

Enjoyed your video. I have been experimenting with something similiar for a bit now. But not with much success. I am encouraged to continue with my experiments.

The Adv is fine in theory; however, it would be easy to position squadrons to avoid the 1 escort and just shoot the 5k anyway. It is my experience that one should either go 2+ escort or do not even bother.
