Awakening to SOR crossover

By aceckert, in Star Wars: Destiny

I just decided to pick up the 2 boosters just to start playing at home casually (no tournaments and don't really have anyone to trade with). I see that the awakenings packs will be hard to find, but the SOR packs are coming.

My question is will cards from awakenings be included as random cards in SOR packs? I know Darth Vader was in awakenings; is he unavailable after awakenings is gone (granted they may later have a different Darth Vader card)?

Yeah, if you miss a wave, there's no chance of you getting those characters, sadly. Awakenings will be reprinted this summer, but in future, there won't be any reprints as far as I know. It is quite possible that there will be new versions of characters, but it's unlikely that a card very similar to the original Darth will ever be published again.

Trading still seems to be a very viable way to get Awakenings cards, since almost everyone needs Spirit of Rebellion stuff and there is quite a shortage of it.

True! I missed out on most of the good Awakenings stuff, and I was able to trade my SoR duplicates for a ton of it this week!

Sadly, still no Luke, Chewie, or Obi-Wan... why do my favorite characters have to be the most rare?!?

Thanks for the responses. This is my first time with a TCG and really just want the staple trilogy characters to create 2 decks to play with my kids once in awhile. I am already well invested into x-wing, armada, and IA; and I feel like I get more bang for my buck with those (I like painting miniatures as well). So probably will stick with the starters and pick up a booster now and then when at the store to see what I get.

Before I was interested in this game I feel like I had constantly seen open booster boxes shoved onto shelves next to the shopkins at Walmart and places Marshalls, and now I am trying to remember where they were. I am going to swing by Barnes and Noble after work because there site says the boosters are in stock.

Wait a month for single prices to come down, figure out what deck you want to make, buy the singles.

There are some very important Awakenings cards. But it not that bad if you figure out what deck you want. Many of the decks have been updated for the SOR format.
