Serious Talisman Questions And Problems. :D

By XxZeebroxX, in Talisman

Hey, Guys and girls Im new to this forum but anyway straight to the point at hand.

Q1) I played a game with my mates last night, right okay my mate was on the crown of command and i used a spell called Shatter ( Destorys one item off a character) i chose his talisman due to him being on the crown of command would he there fore have to declare to turn back, Or would he as he has already passed through the valley of fire would he be unaffected and not need the talisman anymore.?

Which also brings me to a another point relating to the talisman issue

Q2) same game my friend went on through the dungeon and ripped it up in there yah okay blah blah anyway, he beat the lord of darkness and beat him by 8 exactly so yah he moved to the crown of command and he said he woulddn't need a talisman because he isn't passing through the valley of fire which says on the space to reach the crown you need a talisman and need to pass through this space so he didn't take a talisman as treasure and therefore he won and i was pissed at this thought so if some one could clarify this situation would be much needs cheers people enjoy gaming

#1: Doesn't matter. If you've reached the Valley of Fire, you can ditch your Talisman(s), you won't need them again. Of course, this is just base game. With Transference, Misdirection, etc. added to the decks, might still want to hold on to your Talisman(s). But VoF is the one you need a Talisman to enter, once there, don't need it for CoC.

#2: Don't need Talisman if you get to the CoC via Dungeon (or via Transference).

"Characters that emerge on the Crown of Command do not need
to have a Talisman to enter the space." (p. 8, Dungeon rules)

Was just going to answer you, but it is just as Dam said!

Cheers Aaron. :D

Sentinel etc. are enemy, so yes - you get gifts.

You might also want to know this from Talisman Revised 4th Edition FAQ v1.0 November 17, 2009:

Dark Cultist
Q1: If the Dark Cultist defeats another character in battle
and forces him to lose a life, does she still receive a gift from
the Forces of Darkness if the loss of life is prevented with
Armour or the Preservation Spell?
A: No.
Q2: If two Enemies with the same encounter number fight
as one during battle or psychic combat, does the Dark
Cultist receive two gifts from the Forces of Darkness if she
kills them both or only one gift?
A: Only one gift.

Yours Aaron White.

The Sentinel and other things that fight on the board are all considered "creatures" not Enemies!

So the Dark Cultist does not receive a gift when she defeats these creatures.

Ohh, think I might check that again - I might have answered too quickly. Sorry XxzeebroxX preocupado.gif

That may also change the way I play Dark Cultist from now.

I cannot find anything that clarifies this to me, but I gues it is because the adventure cards says "enemy" and other things like sentinel dosn't.

An Enemy is a card with the word Enemy on it, all other things are considered to be creatures!

Red box on page 10 if memory serves clarifies Creature and Enemy.
